Baires Records returns this week following a massive release from Derek Howell and Faskil. The labels 27th release is out this week and features an exciting Argentinean producer by the name of Diego Azocar. This is Diego’s first release on Baires following appearances on Stripped and Santos Records. Diego’s first single for Baires is entitled ‘Recall’ and it comes with a great selection of mixes from: Dartek, Tanseer, No Schematic and Dark Soul Project & Santiago Garcia.
Diego’s original mix has been making waves throughout the progressive underground since Hernan Cattaneo played it at Creamfileds, Buenos Aires. It’s one of those slow building melodic records that really commands your attention. The rumbling bass stabs create the ultimate undulating groove while the laser like hypnotic lines flow the through the piece effortlessly. The main break presents a heartfelt melancholic theme which casts an irresistible feeling of longing over the track which works in perfect unison with the rolling chord changes in the bass line. Amazing debut for Diego on Baires.
The first remix comes from another amazing Argentinean producer Dartek who is making his first appearance on Baires. Mauricio Daniel Maranghello aka Dartek hails from Buenos Aires and made his mark on the progressive scene with appearances on Natura Sonaris and Noizen. Dartek’s ‘Recall’ interpretation brings some wicked techy elements along with the mesmerizing melodies from the original for an amazing emotional journey that packs some serious dance floor punch.
Next up is another one of the great up and coming talents from the flourishing Indian scene. Tanseer Jabbar aka Tanseer recently delivered an exceptional two track EP for Mirabilis Records and if his remix here is any indication he is set for some really big things in the future. To say Tanseer’s remix of ‘Recall’ is huge would probably be an understatement. A cool blend of progressive and techno sensibilities lock down a wicked groove that’s full of lovely intricate electronics. The leads to an absolutely brain melting breakdown that’s sure to create more than a few magic dance floor moments over the next few months. Filled with big melodic hooks and an escalating tension which builds to the ultimate crescendo this is certainly Tanseer’s crowning production achievement to date.
Next up on the remixes is No Schematic who is also making his first appearance on Baires. Piotr Gajcy hails from Poland and we’ve been big fans of his work for many years now. His many bootlegs and unreleased remixes have been constants on our office playlists and it’s great to see him on Baires with a solid remix. No Schematic ‘s deep and moody techno interpretation of ‘Recall’ really stands out for us. Melancholic harmonies, glassy hypnotic lines and a warped and wobbly bass line all combine for a thought provoking journey from No Schematic.
Closing the package out are the Baires label bosses Dark Soul Project and Santiago Garcia who we have been loving of late. Their remix of Pedro Aguiar’s “Closer’ has been one of our favourite productions in 2013 and they’ve provided a great remix of ‘Recall’. DSP and Santiago have crafted another one of their drummy grooves that’s perfectly suited for the dance floor. The catchy melodic lines and rising atmospheres give the track a real peak time feel and blissful breakdown is the ultimate goose bump inducing moment. An amazing package from Baires and one of their all time best to date in fact, Highly Recommended. Release Promo Hype Chart Top 25
