The latest release on BC2 Records welcomes Luciano Scheffer to the label.
The Brazilian producer first came to my attention late last year with his ‘New Way’ EP on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic’s Mistique Music. 2014 has seen Luciano with three more excellent releases courtesy of Massive Harmony Records and Stellar Fountain. His latest single for BC2 is entitled ‘Alamo’ and it comes with a remix from Spacebeat.
Luciano’s sound has come a long way since his early appearances on BIT Records. ‘Alamo’ is a great showcase of what the Brazilian producer is slowly starting to get recognized for. His new found production flair is a bit of a throwback to the deep, hypnotic days of progressive which were led by Zero Tolerance and Cyber Records. Luciano’s rumbling underbelly lays down a great groove early on but it’s the trippy electronics which have such a nice roll that add a unique quality here; particularly in the second half which results in a great conclusion to the progressive ride.
The lone interpretation of ‘Alamo’ is provided by Spacebeat who is making his first appearance on BC2. The Russian producer has had several standout productions this year with his remixes for 238 West and Stellar Fountain really standing out. For his ‘Alamo’ interpretation Spacebeat has reworked the tune into a powerful club production. Backed by a chugging groove and crisp drums it’s a track that brings a great dance floor sensibility. The rocking foundation has a vast complement of airy hypnotics and smooth stabs which carries the piece on a strong hypnotic journey. Great remix from Spacebeat who I wish we would see more releases from actually. Top notch stuff release from BC2, don’t miss it.
