De Wachtkamer’s Bermudos imprint is back this week with a huge release from Manufactura Deep. The labels last release from Mehmet Akar went down as one of their best to date. The Dale Middleton remix was featured by Hernan Cattaneo on his Resident Delta FM radio show and was also charted by Darin Epsilon. The labels new release from Manufactura Deep is entitled ‘Alien Empire EP’ and it comes with a huge selection of remixes from Stas Drive, Constan, Alex Quetell and Alex Mcgee and Monster of Density.
Manufactura Deep’s ‘Alien Empire’ is certainly named appropriately. The spacey sounds are incredibly unique and yes otherworldly or alien sounding. The framework of the record however is equally impressive as it’s made up of a stripped down groove, floor friendly percussion and rhythmic hits which complement the working elements perfectly. The breakdown is something quite special as well; a cinematic masterpiece full of eerie sounds and gaseous atmospheres that’s sure to deliver an amazing mood on the dance floor. Outstanding stuff from Manufactura Deep.
There are a wealth of quality remixes to choose from as well with Constan providing a deep and smooth interpretation while Alex Quetell and Alex Mcgee deliver a punchy tech house rework. The real standout mix for us those comes from Stas Drive. The Ukrainian producer has been one of our favourites for quite some time and with a string of incredible productions on DAR Digital, OLD SQL and Balkan Connection his fan base continues to grow. This is Stas Drive’s first appearance on Bermudos and his ‘Alien Empire’ remix would have to be one our favourites of his to date. It begins with a floaty atmospheric presence that slowly builds around the tracks framework. Soft bass stabs with complementary melodic accents provide some nice hooks and emotional content as the track strips itself down for a transition section. Here the main themes get showcased much more effectively and the composition begins building again with the all encompassing atmosphere delivering some intoxicating vibes. The main breakdown brings some more of the original elements into play and in turn delivers a briefly eerie sounding interlude. The track closes with more rhythmic melodic lines complementing the groove and showcasing a lovely hypnotic sensibility. This one has Hernan Cattaneo written all over it, don’t miss it.
The EP is closed out with Monster of Density reworking ‘Under Carpet’ into an atmospheric prog techno hybrid that should go down well in the morning hours while Manufactura Deep updates ‘Cable’ for 2013 with a delicately produced atmospheric journey. There is such an abundance of great music here that it’s hard to believe that it’s all available on one release. Bermudos has done an amazing job putting this one together and for us Stas Drive really delivers something special here. Highly Recommended. Release Promo Hype Chart Top 25
