Polish producer Monojoke returns Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic’s Mistique Music this week for a new single. This in Monojoke’s sixth appearance on Mistique and his last (coming just last week0 left us awe struck as he delivered a huge remix of Domased Electronica’s ‘Venus & Mars’. Monojoke’s new single for Mistique is entitled ‘Burning’ and it comes with remixes from: Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic, Loquai and Kay-D.
Monojoke’s original mix leads the release of with an energetic, percussive groove that’s accented with an abundance of crisp electronics. The track builds quickly with short sweeps and hypnotic elements complementing the groove further. A short drop serves to introduce a massive synth lead that comes with several cool hooks that should have your dance floor in a complete frenzy. The main drop builds even more tension with the squirrelly hypnotic lines going through a series of spine tingling modulation. The tough kick then thunders back down for a powerful dance floor moment while the second half of the record finishes incredibly strong.
The first remix comes from the Mistique label bosses Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic who continue to build an amazing catalog of releases outside of their own imprint. The trio’s ‘Follow Me’ on Sound Avenue has proved to be one of the duos biggest releases to date with the Lank remix being selected as one of Beatport’s Must Hear Progressive House records for the week of its release. Their ‘Burning’ interpretation goes down as our favourite mix on the package. It’s takes all the crisp electronics and subtle hypnotics from the original and transforms them into a slightly deeper, more refined journey. The rhythmic stabs which get introduced during the main drop are the real standout element though; undeniably funky and modern sounding with a real dance floor flair. Excellent work from Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic who are delivering their best and most inspiring work at the moment.
The second remix of ‘Burning’ comes from Loquai who continues his unbelievable production pace with this being his 26th release of 2013. Konstantin Alt aka Loquai has also delivered a complementary interpretation of ‘Burning’ as it comes with a deeper, warmer vibe in contrast to the big, peaktime sounding original. Konstantin’s rolling floor friendly bass tones get a wicked groove going early on while sheets of warm atmospheric bliss slowly descend over the track. The dreamy vibe carries the track though an incredibly soulful centre section that brings some hopeful sounding emotions with it. Solid work as always from Loquai.
The final remix comes from our favourite Hungarian melody master Krisztian Kajdi aka Kay-D who has been relatively quiet in 2013 with just 4 releases so far. Two of those however have been on Black Hole and Green Martian which certainly add something extra special to Krisztian’s discography. For his ‘Burning’ interpretation Kay-D has completely transformed the track into an ethereal sounding break beat journey that clocks in at around ten minutes. The track builds slowly with subtle acid lines leading the way to the first breakdown. Here Kay-D has crafted another one of his exceptionally gorgeous melodic creations. A glistening sequence of deeply emotional keys then carries you an amazing journey through the rest of the record which sounds truly timeless. One of Kay-D’s most gorgeous creations to date and a very well rounded release from Mistique Music who continue their dominance in the pure progressive sound. Release Promo Hype Chart Top 25
