Pedro Aguiar – Ego Tripping (Lost & Found)

Lost & Found returns with three tracks from Portuguese talent Pedro Aguiar, who is following up a superb EP for Flow Vinyl last month.

It’s easy to see why the deep and hypnotic progressive sounds of ‘Ego Tripping’ appealed so much to Guy J, with its slow and steady build, cool effects, and its lovely trancey undertones as it heads into the breakdown. There’s talk of a Guy J remix of this one in the works, so you’ll want to look out for that!

‘Perceptions’ is similar in feel, with drifting pads giving way to a low slung bassline and discreet but driving stabs, while cleverly-used vocal samples add tension and texture. The breakdown see Pedro Aguiar throw in some subtle melodies, before he builds things up to a great drop.

Finally, ‘6AM Again’ is the most distinctive and experimental of the three tracks, with Pedro Aguiar floating eerie melodies over gentle kicks, metallic percussive loops, and a relentless bassline, while steering things to a dreamy conclusion.

Pedro Aguiar once again proves that progressive house is alive and well with these three excellent new tracks – recommended!
