5 Senses Festival Thailand announce dates and names for the 2nd edition

After a much talked about first edition in 2018, 5 Senses Thailand announces that its second instalment will take place from 14-19 Feb 2019. The paradise island of Koh Phangan will play host to the festival, with its white sand beaches, azure waters, and tropical flora covering the surrounding hills.

Soothe your soul and move your feet while surrounded by the beautiful sights, sounds, and smells that only Thailand can offer. Providing the carefully considered soundtrack will be international headliners Behrouz, Francesca Lombardo, Thomas Schumacher, Einmusik, Supernova and Graham Gold, plus real stars from the underground such asDavide, Dirrty Dishes, Mikah, Axel Haube, Sense of Sun, Fake Shamans, Silky Thunder, Konrad Ritter and Salvo Salvatore and a specially selected team of 14 residents, with many more world class headliners to be announced over the next three months. Tickets are priced at 100 Euros for standard entry.

These headliners are considered the best of the best; talented DJs who work deep in the scene and have a hardcore fan base who really know their stuff. They are DJs that attract genuine music lovers–rather than just party animals–from all over Europe to come and see them spin in some of the coolest venues in the scene, and they traverse stripped back house, minimal, deep techno and plenty in between. Behrouz hails from Miami, runs the Do Not Sit on the Furniture party there, and in Ibiza, and is known for his warm, involving, shamanistic and storytelling deep house grooves. Then comes Italian-born and classically trained Francesca Lombardo, who criss-crosses the globe as a DJ and live performer. She’s played monumental shows and releases on Crosstown Rebels, Mobilee, Leftroom, and her own Echo and Echolette imprints. Thomas Schumacher is a long time and vital figure in the scene with his ever evolving house and techno output on key labels like Noir Music. Fellow German Einmusik always takes you on a musical trip with his ethno infused and magically melodic sounds on his own label, with agenda setting Italian tech house duo Supernova and KISS legend Graham Gold also bring their untold knowledge and skills in the booth.

Next to the internationally renowned names are a team of cult favourites who are loved by the most in the know dancers. They include celebrated Bar 25 associate Sense of Sun, Cafe D’Anvers regular and Comport Records artist Axel Haube, Silky Thunder from San Francisco, the Lost Diaries star Mikah from Hamburg who has been a key player in his hometown for almost ten years and serves up emotive, storytelling sets. Then there are 5 Senses regulars and healing house duo Fake Shamans from Pakistan, who have releases on labels like Akbal Music and run their own Fake Rituals label, plus young, eclectic and technically excellent Konrad Ritter from Mar Mar, and Salvo Salvatore, Klangkost founder and a long time Berliner whose sound is infuse with the city’s rich musical history.

Says festival CEO Adam Phangan, “The team has spent a lot of months on the road this year, moving across Asia, Europe, and the US to develop stronger relations and recruit. We plan to change the scene in Asia for the better. Bringing the big names to Bangkok, Koh Phangan, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Saigon. We are excited about this coming season and we have test ran a couple of the venues with names already too great success.”

“The future of the Asian scene is huge. The Scene on Koh Phangan is already wonderful. Last year we worked with amazing venues like Lost Paradise and 360 Rooftop. This year we have our own land. We are building something very special.”

All this has resulted in what is set to be the best 5 Senses Festival yet, as well as the brand new Thrive Club Project in Than Sadet, Koh Phangan, where resident DJs will be seen performing twice a month as well as at the festival, which is topped up with Europe’s best headliners. They will also tour across Asia under the direction of the Asian Club Collective agency and The 5 Senses Team, and the excellent residents include Adam Phangan, Haidak, MAM, Peter G, Graham Gold, Tree’s Talk, Erwin Linden, Luna Summer, Nina Catcher, Dava Di Toma and Suiss.
