From big names to emerging talents, RE:SET Radio offers a versatile listening experience, reflecting IND:RA’s passion for music and his commitment to showcasing diverse styles.

In this interview, IND:RA talks about the show’s journey so far, the role of guest artists, and his hopes for the future.

Hi IND:RA, how are you?

I am well guys, hope you are all doing well.

To start, with RE:SET Radio still in its first year, how do you feel about the show so far?

It’s been a great start. We are at episode 25 now and I am quite happy with the amount of radio stations that have picked up the show and the average weekly listeners are increasing each month.

You’ve already hosted a range of guests on RE:SET Radio, can you tell us what inspired you to bring other artists on board?

I think it brings a lot of new styles and sounds to the show. We have had some amazing artists on the guestmixes including Sander Van Doorn, Laura Van Dam, SKIY, Prophecy, Zonderling, Hel:sløwed, Deadline, Ginchy and more. All of them are powerhouses and bring their own unique style to the mix, which gives the listeners something new each week.

Are there any moments from recent guest episodes that really stood out for you? A mix that resonated with you personally?

I really enjoyed Hel:sløwed’s set, as I was majorly into Trance early in my career and the set has some really good mixes. Also, SKIY, Laura Van Dam and Sander Van Doorn have some amazing music and flow in the mixes. I really enjoyed listening to them all, as they feature IDs and bootlegs at times.

If you could bring any artist, past or present, onto RE:SET Radio, who would it be and why?

I would have loved to host Robert Miles, as have always been a big fan of his music and him as a human. He would have been a great guest on RE:SET Radio

How do you think the guest features have helped RE:SET Radio grow and evolve?

The show now goes out on 22 Radio stations across 14 countries with 4 million monthly listeners on average. All the guests hosted on the show until now have a really strong fan following and have some great releases, so they do bring extra listeners and eyes to the show. It also helps the regular listeners across the radio stations to hear a fresh sound each week, so it definitely helps bring in more listeners.

Have you noticed any particular feedback or reaction from listeners about the guest episodes?

I like finding new music and mostly play promos and other new releases out fresh that week before they hit the charts. A lot of these artists appreciate the show, as it goes out to a lot of new audiences who get introduced to these new artists. Also, the guest artists bring a lot of feedback to the show. Laura Van Dam’s guestmix had some amazing feedback, as did Hel:sløwed’s and more.

How do you foresee having guests on the show shaping the direction and identity of RE:SET Radio moving forward?

The plan is to get residencies on as many radio stations as possible, with multiple FM stations reaching the casual audience in new countries. Reaching a large audience in new territories ensures the music reaches new listeners, and that is the long-term goal. The guestmixes give a credential to RE:SET Radio, along with bringing the large listener base of the guest names, ensuring the show secures more talented guest artists in the future.

How do you balance your own artistic identity with the diverse styles that guests bring to the show? Is there a core element you aim to preserve in each episode?

That is an interesting question. Over my 25 years of DJing, I have been quite genre-fluid, maintaining a melodic vibe to my sets and productions, irrespective of the genres I have played at the time. I try to keep the same vibe with RE:SET Radio, where the flow of the show differs from week to week depending on my headspace at that time. Some weeks feature more Progressive House, and other weeks have Melodic Techno, which may be deep melodic or peak time as well. I also play a set depending on which guest I am hosting to ensure a bit of a seamless transition when the guest takes over. I quite enjoy playing and recording the set, as it gives a very live feel to it.

Finally, are there any upcoming guests you’re particularly excited about that you can share with us now?

I just had one of my favorite guest artists in this week – Sander Van Doorn who is a legend. I plan to bring some more local artists as guests this month, however we have the amazing Liva on next.

As RE:SET Radio continues to grow, IND:RA’s thoughtful approach to curation and collaboration will surely continue to carry throughout the episodes, giving way to engaging mixes with each instalment. The balance between his own melodic style and the unique contributions of his guests continues to create a space where listeners can discover the freshest sounds emerging within the genre, gaining insight into the depths and diversity on offer within Electronic Music today. With plans to keep working at expanding the reach of RE:SET Radio, aiming to bring even more inspiring artists to its decks, IND:RA remains motivated, maintaining his focus when it comes to elevating the reputation of his radio show.
