Advent’s Rising – Unexpected Conditions (Suffused Music)

The third release on Suffused’s new Suffused Music imprint is out this week and it features the debut of Advent’s Rising to the label. Panos T aka Advent’s Rising is an up and coming producer from Greece who has appeared on Mistique Digital and No Border Recordings in the past. Advent Rising’s newest single for Suffused is entitled ‘Unexpected Conditions’ and it comes with remixes from: Cut Knob, JJ Grant, Loquai and Tolga Diler.

The ‘Unexpected Conditions’ original is certainly Advent Rising’s most accomplished production to date. The tracks rumbling groove and heavenly melodic elements are instantly great but it’s the wonderful atmosphere which efforlessly flows through the track that really gets us. It’s such a wonderful backdrop or sound scape for the tracks framework to sit against and it makes the piece flow so well. Outstanding stuff form Pano.

The first remix is supplied by the Columbian duo Cut Knob who are making their debut on Suffused here. BoomCardona and Diego Gómez aka Cut Knob first came to our attention a year ago when their debut single entitled ‘Behind The Secrets’ was released on Mistique. Since then the duo has gone on to appear on: Armada, OLD SQL, Crossfade Sounds and more. Cut Knob’s remix of ‘Unexpected Conditions’ currently sits at #7 in our overall Hype Chart and it complements the original really well. The Columbian duo have crafted a slightly groovier framework which results in a much more club friendly version that’s going to be a dream for the progressive DJs out there.

The next remix comes from one of this year’s brightest up and comers JJ Grant. The US producer impressed the entire progressive house community with his massive two track release on Mistique earlier this year and by year’s end JJ looks set to be a household name in progressive house. JJ’s mix is the standout version for us on the package without a doubt. His production is ultra crisp and is always bursting with energy. Tough driving beats combined with soft vocal stabs and glistening bells dominate the first half which is rocking to say the very least. Airy vocal pads soon hover over the groove and lead the track to the main drop. Here a more sinister tone comes over the track with some nice synth modulation and a spooky atmospheric presence. The titanium coated beats soon drop back in along with the rumbling groove which begins to build again with sections of aquatic sounding electronics getting added back into the mix. The tracks conclusion is absolutely gorgeous with all the melodic accents and subtle atmospheres coming together for a truly exhilarating dance floor moment. Excellent work from JJ.

Not to be outdone Loquai also provides a great version here. Konstantin Alt aka Loquai continues to impress on the production front of late with originals and remixes on Jetlag, OLD SQL, Stellar Fountain, Bonzai, Electronic Tree and PHW. His ‘Unexpected Conditions’ remix adds that signature Loquai funk to the track and incorporates all the cool melodic elements as well. As with most Loquai productions it’s the overall groove which really stands out here and makes it such a great dance floor interpretation.

The package is closed out with one last remix from Tolga Diler. Tolga is one of Turkey’s most well known progressive house producers; he first came to our attention with his releases on Deepsessions, Underground City Music and Vise Versa Music in early 2011. More recently Tolga has had great productions on Mistique, OLD SQL, Green Snake and here he makes his debut on Suffused with a great remix. Those who loved Tolga’s ‘I Hear You Calling’ are going to absolutely love this as it comes with a similarly heavenly vibe. Filled with a wealth of intricate electronics and cool sound design the trippy melodic content really shines as the track grows. Those panning synths really eat away at your senses and in turn complement the lightly textured atmosphere for a great conclusion. Superb stuff from Tolga and a great release from Suffused.
