Luis Bondio’s Classound Recordings returns for its 18th overall release this week. The Argentinean imprint has had a very strong 2014 thus far. The labels last release presented the Hernan Cattaneo supported ‘Frog’ EP by Diego Poblets. Classound’s latest sees Alberto Blanco and Marcelo Paladini making their debut on the label. The Argentinean pair are frequent studio partners and as progressive house fans know when they get together sonic magic generally ensues. Their debut EP for Classound Recordings is entitled ‘In the End’ and it comes with two brand new original productions.

The lead track on the release ‘In The End’ showcases what Alberto and Marcelo have become so loved for. The duos percussive groove and swirling atmospheric backdrop sets a wonderful vibe early on. As the production builds and the drum elements get slowly beefed up the blissful vibes grow larger. Massive sweeps and a cool complement of hypnotic rhythms carry the track with ease to the main break. Here the tension disperses momentarily and the intoxicating soundscapes reveal their ultimate power. A restrained re-entry proves to be perfect for the dance floor and a strong second half conclusion finishes things off right.

The companion piece ‘Something Unpredictable’ is next and finds Alberto and Marcelo with a more laid back but equally atmospheric creation. The duos unmistakable groove carries that great bounce that you’ve come to expect and a soft complement of blissful pads and unique vocal elements keep you quite captivated. The main break showcases the memorable vocal loop and also has a few soft rolls which build some nice anticipation. The kick then drops back in rather unassumingly and sets up a second drummy build which summons a smooth but exhilarating conclusion. Two very strong tracks from Alberto and Marcelo which both carry some wonderful textural elements. Great release from Luis Bondio’s Classound Recordings. Highly Recommended.
