The 42nd release on Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music welcomes Alberto Blanco & Marcelo Paladini to the label.
The Argentinean duo have been frequent studio partners since they began collaborating in the second half of 2013. Their fusion of percussive grooves with progressive sensibilities has earned them a loyal following in the underground and world class DJ Hernan Cattaneo is among their biggest supporters. Alberto and Marcelo now make their long awaited debut on Dopamine Music with ‘New Intention’ alongside remixes from Simos Tagias and Matias Chilano.
Beginning with a driving groove and fluid lines ‘New Intention’ immediately strikes an energetic chord. Indistinct electronics pan through the framework as wave after wave of atmosphere descends over the powerful groove. Lively melodic hooks then push the track into peaktime territory and carry it into the main break. The nearly two minute interlude flows through a storyboard of pixie-esque harmonies which furthers the tepid atmosphere, and brings a on suitably epic conclusion. A huge production from Alberto and Marcelo.
The first interpretation of ‘New Intention’ is provided by Simos Tagias who is returning to Dopamine Music for his third appearance. The Greek producer last appeared with his ‘Remain Strong’ EP in January which remains one of the label’s best selling releases. 2015 promises to be another stellar year for Simos with a release on Luke Porter’s Temporum Music already out and one on Cid Inc’s Replug Records forthcoming. Always a consummate remixer Simos has once again worked his sonic magic on ‘New Intention’. With a groovier and more percussive take on the original it sits as a very worthy companion. The melodic motifs have been reshaped into something more indistinct and thought provoking which should make for many great moments on the dance floor. A beautiful remix from Simos.
The second and final interpretation of ‘New Intention’ is provided by Matias Chilano who is making his first appearance on Dopamine Music. The Argentinean producer has been one of his country’s most recognized progressive house artists over the last several years. Winning the first ever Sound Avenue remix contest in 2012 was a huge moment and it’s been a steady climb ever since. Hernan Cattaneo has been a huge supporter and his debut remix for Dopamine Music looks to be one of his strongest productions yet. Matias’ atmospheric take on progressive house is always refreshing and his tripped out sensibilities shine here once again. Backed by a tough, driving foundation the Argentinean’s bubbly hooks and sweeping electronics begin to steal the air. The brooding nature of the piece is strong and continues to build through the main break, gracefully peaking with the return of the stripped down groove. Excellent remix from Matias which rounds out another strong release on Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music. Don’t miss it.
