The newest release on System Recordings finds the US label adding an exciting new artist to their roster. Ukrainian producer Alex Van Deep started his production career in mid 2012 with releases on Mistique Music and Mistique Emotion. Over the next year and a half Alex added many quality releases with appearances on OLD SQL Recordings and PHW being the highlights. His melodic sound has always seemed to cross genres very well and has earned him support from both progressive and trance DJs alike. Alex’s debut EP for System Recordings is entitled ‘Formentera’ and it comes with two brand new original productions.

The deep and sultry grooves of ‘Formentera’ lead the release off and it really sees Alex broadening his sound quite a bit. The melodic, summery vibes are certainly evident but in a much more delicate and thought provoking manner. The hypnotic rhythms Alex has created here are very strong and the compact running time along with a subtle breakdown is just the icing on the cake. Brilliant work from Alex that should find favour with a large number of deep progressive DJs out there. The companion piece ‘Deja Vu’ proves to be an excellent complement as it carries the same fresh vibes as ‘Formentera’. The lush grooves which build during the records first half are so smooth and effortless that you’re immediately captivated. The breakdown though is perhaps even more special. Alex has constructed some gorgeous vocal loops which are full of ethereal effects and mesmerizing qualities. The long build out of the break is tastefully restrained as well and the resulting payoff is going to be perfect for the impending spring / summer club season. Two quality cuts from Alex and a great signing for System Recordings. Highly Recommended.
