Anton Stellz steps up with ‘Mythic’ for the newly launched Dlimited Records.
The UK imprint is essentially the relaunch of Baroque Limited but with the imprint now focusing on all things techno a new moniker seems appropriate. The labels first offering comes from Russian producer Anton Stellz who has been a staple of the Baroque Records roster having appeared on the label 10 previous times. His versatile studio skills have resulted in two beauties ‘Mythic’ and ‘Aait’ which get Dlimited off to a great start.
The EP begins with ‘Mythic’ which finds Anton crafting a rugged techno beauty. There’s always been a techno sensibility emanating from Anton’s music and even his more progressive oriented works like the Innate ‘Tronic Music’ remix show this. On ‘Mythic’ however you get a percussive peak time stormer. The rough beats backed by a romping groove lay down a great foundation for a barrage of drum elements which really make the track. Full on party vibes and the sinister vocal effects are the icing on the cake. Monster tune from Anton.
The companion piece ‘Aait’ while a touch housier is equally engaging. It proves to be a great complement to ‘Mythic’ with another impressive array of drums and vocal chants. The funky groove and soft rhythmic tones open it up to a broad range of floors while the stripped down middle section builds some wonderful tension. It makes for a big third act which rounds the Ep out nicely. Two top notch cuts from Anton and a superb debut for the newly coined Dlimited. Don’t miss it.
