Luis Bondio’s Classound Recordings is back this week with their third overall release and second of 2013. It features the debut of yet another talented Argentinean producer to the label by the name of Antrim. Guillermo Cornejo aka Antrim hails from Cordoba and first came to our attention with a couple of appearances on PolyTechnic Recordings in mid 2012. Guillermo has gotten 2013 off to an amazing start with Nick Warren selected his ‘Blow Your Mind’ production for his latest Renaissance compilation. It’s a huge achievement and 2013 would seem to hold great things for the up and coming Argentinean producer. Antrim’s debut single for Classound is entitled ‘Beyond’ and it comes with remixes from: Li-Polymer and Sasha Le Monnier.
Antrim’s original mix comes with an exceptionally cool melodic techno sensibility. A warm foundation of low end frequencies move though a series of soulful sounding chord changes while a set of ethereal sounding melodic lines work some serious magic over the top. This gives the record one of those amazing ‘going on a journey’ type feelings which keeps you locked from start to finish. The production is clean, spacious and should sound fabulous on a club system. The breakdown too is sensational; otherworldly sounds which subtly build to a tasteful melodic climax which is sure to garner some great reactions from the more clued up dance floors out there.
The first remix is provided by Fabio Pereira aka Li-Polymer who is making his first appearance on Classound here. The Portuguese producer has just come off a killer remix of Blusoul’s ‘Voyager’ for Lowbit Records and also has Stellar Fountain, Mistique, Afterglow and Balkan Connection on his discography. For his ‘Beyond’ interpretation Li-Polymer has provided a lush and dreamy sounding interpretation that really delivers some nice warm up vibes. Another one of Li-Polymer’s amazing bubbly sounding bass lines lays down a wicked foundation. While subtle hypnotic lines and incandescent sounding accents provide a truly enchanting environment that is sure to set the mood of room perfectly.
The final interpretation comes from well known DJ/producer Sasha Le Monnier who has slowly been building up an impressive discography. Over the last two years the Jersey, Channel Islands based producer has appeared on Mistique, Stripped, Tactal Hots and PolyTechnic Recordings. With radio shows on both Proton and Digitally Imported Sasha could also be considered one of the hardest working female DJs on the planet. Sasha’s ‘Beyond’ interpretation begins with a big spacious groove that really carries quite a large presence with it. Sasha has taken the melodic elements from the original and re-created a wonderfully trippy and hypnotic sequence which is haunting to say the list. It certainly closes the package out on a strong note and with support from Darin Epsilon, dPen, Nikko Z., Muzarco and Praveen Achary it’s undoubtedly a remix that belongs in your collection. Luis Bondio’s Classound on fine form once again. Release Promo Hype Chart Top 25
