Artfaq – Etereo EP (Golden Wings Music)

The latest release on Golden Wings Music welcome Artfaq to the label for a brand new EP.

Artfaq - Etereo EP

The Argentinean duo are fresh off a single on Stellar Fountain and previous to that they released their first ever production on Balkan Connection South America’s ‘BCSA Soldiers Vol. 5’. Artfaq’s debut EP for Golden Wings Music is entitled ‘Etereo’ which includes four brand new originals.

For those that have followed Artfaq’s previous tracks you know to expect something quite unique and the lead track ‘Etereo’ certainly delivers. It’s bouncy groove, vibrant stabs and warm pads make for a gorgeous first act before several spiralling motifs take the track through its middle section. The breaks are incredibly brief and the final one serves to introduce a more distinct theme which is one of the highlights on the EP. This leads nicely into ‘Ordeep Ranza’ which is a wonderful slice of deep techno. It’s smooth rhythmic groove is adorned with washed out atmospheres and esoteric themes which keep it quite fresh throughout. The near 11 minute running time is a bit daunting but when you have a continually evolving storyboard of effects and themes like this it’s totally worth it.

The EPs third selection ‘Flores Pt. 1’ features more uptempo yet deep techno grooves. With a much mellower approach the vibe is a touch hopeful and melancholic all at once and the unique vocal stabs which close the track out are excellent. The EP’s final selection ‘Rain Dance’ is one my faves on the release, it again has that smooth, effortless vibe of some of the previous cuts but with an even deeper more late night feel. It’s one of those tracks you actually wish was longer cause it’s such a pleasure to listen to. It closes the release out on a strong note and definitely leaves you wanting to hear more from Artfaq. Brilliant EP and one of Golden Wings best releases to date. Don’t miss it.
