The latest release on System Recordings finds the US label showcasing another exciting up and coming talent in Arthur Minnahmetov.
The Russian artist began his production career a mere seven months ago. His debut EP entitled ‘Mantra’ (released though Balkan Connection’s BC2) immediately caught the attention of electronic music fans. The Russian producers moody, melancholic take on progressive house was welcomed by the underground and a string of successful releases soon followed. Subsequent appearances on BQ Recordings and Stellar Fountain Deep have been excellent and a forthcoming single on Suffused Music is much anticipated. Now as the year is winding to a close we see Arthur presenting his debut EP for System Recordings.
‘Sensitivity’ leads the EP off with a dreamy progressive vibe that carries a deep, underlying emotion. The clattering drums add mightily to the smooth lines and the main break ups the heavenly vibes a notch further. The warm glow emanating from the showcase synths during the interlude is quite special. It’s a tranquil mood which lifts you up and it carries all the way through the second half for a blissful conclusion.
The companion piece ‘Closer’ offers a much bouncier groove and more distinct melodic hooks. The lead synths are elastic-like in construction and bring a cool, hypnotic quality which carries the track to the main break. The groove stays well intact during the interlude with the drums keeping things locked. It makes for an energy filled third act as some additional angelic qualities carry the track to a great conclusion. Two more solid tracks from Arthur Minnahmetov who continues to add great entries to his discography.
