Audiostorm – Jakov EP (System Recordings)

Audiostorm

The latest release on System Recordings welcomes Audiostorm back to the label for a brand new EP.

Audiostorm - Jakov EP

The Montenegrin producer is making his eighth appearance on the US imprint and is fresh off a release on Baroque’s Dlimted offshoot. The release featured a much more techno inspired approach and his latest EP for System features something a bit different as well.

The release begins with ‘Daintiness’ which finds Audiostorm crafting a deeper, mid tempo progressive cut. As with many Audiostorm productions the melodic motifs are very strong with delicate keys and a wispy atmospheric backdrop surrounding the warm, chunky groove. The main break is gorgeous as it strips right down to some soft pads and feathered harmonies. There’s a summery vibe locked in there and the subtlety it’s conveyed with it really nice. Beautiful work form Audiostorm.

The companion piece ‘Jakov (When I was a kid)’ shows a different and equally brilliant side of Audiostorm’s studio repertoire. It’s downtempo beats and creamy sounds once again exude a lot of emotion which the lazy bass stabs seem to exemplify perfectly. It’s nice to see Audiostorm exploring so many different styles like this, it rounds out the EP quite nicely and definitely makes you wonder what will be coming out of his studio next. Great release from System Recordings. Don’t miss it.
