The 14th release on Sleepless Nights Recordings is out this week and it features the debut of Biologik to the label. Eric L aka Biologik grew up in Montreal, Canada and after some time spent in New York now calls Toronto, Canada home. He delivered one of this year’s biggest singles ‘Sleepless’ which came courtesy of Mesmeric records in January and has since appeared on Proton, 99percent and Visceral. His debut EP for Sleepless Nights is entitled ‘In Bloom’ and it comes with a remix from Silinder.
There has always been a highly emotional vibe with all Biologik productions and that is certainly evident on ‘In Bloom’. Blissful chord changes, wispy vocal gates and a chordal sequence of keys all combine for a gorgeous creation that is certainly one of Eric’s best to date. The companion piece ‘Skin’ proves to be the ideal complement with a techy groove and wavering atmospheric backdrop. The serenity during the drop gives way for some gnarly acid lines which up the intensity following the break. After a short tension filled stretch the silky synths reappear and recreate the blissful vibe with new twist. Excellent stuff from Biologik.
The lone remix of ‘Skin’ is provided the one and only Silinder. The Irish producer would have to be one of the genres most consistently excellent producers. A regular on Proton Music and Stripped Recordings this is Silinder’s debut appearance on Sleepless Nights and his remix is currently #1 in our overall Hype Chart. Any diehard Silinder fans will know before the cards are even turned over what the result is here. That acid line with Silinder’s pristinely produced framework is a match made in heaven and with an added bit of sparkle it’s positively perfect. This would have to be Sleepless Nights best release to date. Highly Recommended.
