Bubba Brothers Go Back to Their “Roots”

Following their vocal-led hit “Sinners,” Bubba Brothers pivot into tribal territory and come up gold. “Roots” hinges on polyrhythms that will slip neatly into a peak-time Tech-House set—think Kaz James meets Culoe De Song. “Taj” opens with rolling toms and a call-and-response synth hook; “Mambo” trades melody for pure groove science; “Kakoo” and “Kora” stretch out into almost seven-minute epics before being distilled into radio edits for wider reach. The EP’s strength is versatility: DJs can lift any of the four originals for very different moments in the night. Released 28 February 2025 on Mossdeb Sounds, this one is tailor-made for sunset sets at Sonus or the sweaty 4 a.m. slot at Kater Blau.
