Chus & Ceballos, the Iberican tech-house duo, officially reunited following a five-year hiatus, releasing their single “Somos Uno” and recording episode 111 for the ONE Podcast series on True Underground. Recorded in August 2026 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Stereo Productions, the mix captures the Spanish production team reconnecting in the booth during their global Reunion Tour. The performance highlights three decades of studio craft, organic percussion engineering, and refreshed DJ workflows.

The temporary freeze of the Chus & Ceballos project in 2020 stemmed from global operational shutdowns and geographical separation. Operating across a nine-hour time difference between different countries following two decades of non-stop international touring, the pair elected to pause joint activities to pursue individual creative outlets and prevent burnout.

Reconnecting for marathon back-to-back performances during their 2026 Reunion Tour rekindled their collaborative momentum. The shared energy experienced on dance floors inspired the composition of “Somos Uno”, serving as the sonic catalyst for their permanent reunion.

The Reunion Tour changed everything. After spending months together again, playing marathon sets and feeling that incredible connection with people, it became obvious that this wasn’t simply nostalgia. There was still something meaningful to say together. Somos Uno became the soundtrack to that feeling.

Engineering tracks for modern line-array club systems requires precise low-end control and dynamic headroom management. In the studio, Chus & Ceballos rely on parallel compression to preserve kick drum transients while maintaining raw sub-bass weight across high-output sound systems.

Organic rhythm construction remains central to their studio methodology. Rather than depending exclusively on digital sample packs, 90 per cent of their rhythm sections originate from live recording sessions with professional percussionists, supplemented by tape recordings and archival sound libraries.

Percussion has always been the heart of our music. We don’t believe in overcrowding a mix. Every rhythmic element needs its own role, and clarity comes from arrangement just as much as from processing. That’s something we’ve always paid close attention to. 90% of our rhythm section came from live recording sessions with real drummers and percussionists; this makes a real difference.

Long-term residencies at world-class venues like Stereo Montreal served as the ultimate testing ground for their dubs and master mixes. The exceptional acoustic clarity of such rooms taught the Madrid producers to prioritise acoustic space, subtle dynamic tension, and low-frequency balance over excessive loudness.

Performance workflows have adapted to current club standards. Moving away from early Traktor setups, the duo now operates via USB drives and Rekordbox media players, streamlining booth setup while maintaining their intuitive, non-verbal back-to-back communication.

Technology has evolved enormously, but our philosophy hasn’t. We used to play with Traktor for years, and now we both are using USB sticks and Rekordbox. Today’s equipment gives us much greater flexibility and reliability, allowing us to focus entirely on storytelling rather than technology.

Stereo Productions 25th Anniversary and Iberican Sound

Established in 2001 in Madrid, Stereo Productions reaches its 25-year milestone in 2026. The imprint was originally founded to secure complete artistic independence as dance music shifted toward early digital audio workstations, establishing the percussive blueprint known globally as the Iberican Sound.

Merging house music influences from DJ Chus with techno foundations from Pablo Ceballos, the label’s signature sound combined Latino diaspora rhythms, African drum arrangements, and flamenco elements into an authentic Spanish club aesthetic.

We’ve always trusted our instincts. Trends come and go, but rhythm is timeless. Stereo Productions has never been built around fashionable sounds; it’s been built around groove, percussion, and records that still work years later. That’s always been our philosophy.
