Club Boris Barcelona marks the arrival of a new kind of clubbing experience in the city. Founded by Grupo Costa Este, the venue elevates the standard for sound and atmosphere in the capital of Catalonia.
Located in the Upper Barcelona region (Carrer de Bori i Fontestà, 25, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi), the 250-capacity club Boris is designed for those who prioritise music over spectacle
Every inch of the club has been re-imagined: lighting, décor, acoustics and the booth-to-dancefloor relationship have been engineered for full immersion. Central to the experience is a high-spec d&b audiotechnik sound system that ensures clarity and impact across the frequency range.
Musically, Club Boris Barcelona will host a broad palette of sounds: techno, afro-house, deep house, melodic techno, Afrobeat and amapiano. The programming brings in selectors and artists who thrive in close-quarters, high-energy environments where the crowd is steps away from the booth.
Production and spatial design have been handled by the Barcelona-based design-studio Futur2. The space references classic European nightlife aesthetics but reworks them for contemporary sensibilities—minimal, warm, textured and intimate.
Club Boris Barcelona opens Thursday through Saturday. Entry is from 23:59; on Thursdays for 23+ and until 05:00, Saturdays until 06:00 for 27+. The club emphasises a mature music-driven crowd rather than mass-tourist footfall.
Grupo Costa Este was founded in 1988 by brothers Ramón Bordas and Javier Bordas with the mission of creating unique gastronomic and nightlife venues.
The company operates more than 14 venues across Barcelona, Madrid and Marbella, spanning restaurants, beach clubs and night-clubs.
The Bordas brothers have steered the business through decades of nightlife evolution – early beach tents, to large scale clubs such as Opium Barcelona and Bling Bling.
Recent commentary indicates the group is undergoing a generational transition: the second generation (sons of the founders) are increasingly active; Club Boris Barcelona appears to be a project in that phase.
The launch of Club Boris Barcelona under Grupo Costa Este signals intent: instead of chasing mass-tourist big capacities, the group is pursuing a refined, music-first niche. The sound system investment and intimate capacity reflect a strategic pivot toward quality over scale. The generational shift in ownership likely reinforces this strategic recalibration, as younger stakeholders may bring fresh perspectives on club culture, sound, and audience segmentation.
