The 34th release on Baires Records is out this week and it features the return of Corei to the label. Diego Medina aka Corei hails from Argentina and first appeared on Baires with his remix of Kieran J’s ‘Hippy Shack’ which was released in the final month of 2013. Corei now presents his first single for Baires entitled ‘Sinestesia’ which includes a remix from Donatello.
Corei’s original leads the release off and I have to say it’s his strongest production to date. The meaty groove is quite powerful and the complement of vocal elements sounds quite fresh. As waves of bass tones get added in the foundation really starts to roll and momentous vocal elements follow suit. The main break is quite suspenseful with the vocals being even more striking here with some additional space to breathe. Once those unmistakable bass stabs return it’s full steam ahead with some spacey electronics further smashing your senses. Killer chord changes then provide a great climax which is sure to be a treat on the dance floor. Like I said at the outset it’s Corei’s best work to date and he’s really growing leaps and bounds as a producer. Well done!
The lone remix is provided by Donatello who is making his first appearance on Baires. The Lithuanian producer has been a staple of labels like Spring Tube, Mirabilis Records, Stripped Recordings and Sasha’s Last Night On Earth. His deep, progressive house sound has been making waves and he also delivered one of last year’s best bootlegs with his rework of Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’. For his ‘Sinestesia’ interpretation Donatello has crafted a punchy, dynamic rework that complements Corei’s original very well. The dark stabs and rolling claps are a match made in heaven while the re-treated vocals are even more infectious than they were in the original. Fabulous work from Donatello and a wicked release from Baires Records.
