The latest release on Clinique Recordings finds Damir Ludvig and Everbeatz returning to the label for a brand new single.
The Croatian duo last appeared on the Russian imprint in August of last year with their ‘Gestures’ single. Accompanied by a Magnetic Brothers remix it was a strong release for Clinique and now the long awaited follow up entitled ‘Think’ is ready.
For those that missed the duo’s previous single it was a tough minded, dark progressive cut with stand out production. On ‘Think’ we get that same crisp production and progressive sensibility with perhaps a slightly deeper state of mind. Much like ‘Gestures’ though the duo use gated vocals to create a compelling storyboard which carries the track, while a barrage of perfectly trimmed electronics cut through the atmosphere. Trailing drum effects add mightily to the tracks flow and a big build during the records second act proves to be its peak, all before a smooth and exhilarating home stretch. Damir and Everbeatz have also provided a Dub Edit which uses the same powerful grooves, effects and electric vibe, minus the distinctive vocal elements. It does come off a bit let proggy as a result and the continually evolving effects create a wonderful story within the track. Two solid cuts and both perfect for the dance floor.
The lone interpretation of ‘Think’ is provided by Ewan Rill who is making his ninth appearance on Clinique Recordings. The Russian artist finished off 2015 very strong with a remix of Evgeny Lebedev on Following Light’s Aeriform Records which currently sits in Beatport’s Progressive House Top 100. Ewan gets 2016 off to a great start as well with a really nice remix of ‘Think’. The Russian’s fresh approach has yielded a deeper and more atmospheric interpretation full of wonderful subtleties and delicate hooks. The vocals in particular, now sounding ethereal and indistinct meld wonderfully with the blissful haze which sits as the tracks backdrop. An eloquent break only adds to its beauty and a clean and serene third act closes things off in style. Wonderful remix from Ewan and a great start to 2016 from Clinique Recordings. Don’t miss it.
