Daniel Glover - A Different Kind Of Space

The 22nd release on Emotional Content Records welcomes Daniel Glover to the label for his debut single.

Daniel Glover - A Different Kind Of Space

The UK producer began his production career just six short months ago with an EP on Nicholas Van Orton’s BCSA. Daniel quickly followed that up with a string of successful releases on Soundteller Records, Baroque Records and Inmost Records. Now as the year is winding to a close Daniel makes his debut on Emotional Content with ‘A Different Kind Of Space’ alongside a remix from Dmitry Molosh.

Listening to Daniel’s most recent releases for Baroque Records and Inmost Records you get a real feel for his smooth effortless grooves and subtle melodic tendencies. ‘A Different Kind Of Space’ definitely ranks right up there with his best work. It’s galloping groove is immaculately carved while a series of textural motifs fill the air early on. Wispy vocal gates carry the track through a great transition while the smooth emotional rush continues to build. There’s a bit of a Rogier & Stage Van H vibe about this which is something to take note of if you dig their productions. The track’s stripped down second act may be it’s strongest suit though, with no huge break it relies on tailored down portions of the groove while atmospheric swells provide the dramatic tension across it’s eight minute running time. Lovely track from Daniel.

The lone interpretation of ‘A Different Kind Of Space’ is provided by Dmitry Molosh who is making his first appearance on Emotional Content. The Belarus based producer and now firm favourite of Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J has grown into one of the underground’s brightest stars. His new school approach to progressive house is fresh and it’s earned him much praise as a result. His ‘A Different Kind Of Space’ interpretation is on the money again and sounds like it would be right at home in a Guy J or Cid Inc. set. Dmitry’s tough, spacious and percussive approach adds an electric flair as the track gets under way. Slowly the atmospheric elements from the original get worked into the mix, but with a more subversive approach the groove maintains its powerful drive towards the second act. A brief break and sledgehammer drop proves to be the magic moment as the firing electronics intensify further into a wicked third act conclusion. Another monster remix from Dmitry and a great release for Emotional Content Records, surely one of their best to date. Don’t miss it.
