Amsterdam-born and Switzerland-based producer DJUCE is redefining the intersection of professional leadership and electronic music with the release of his debut single “To You,” a track designed to revive the raw energy of 90s piano house.
Currently operating across major club circuits in Zurich, Dubai, and Ibiza, the artist balances a high-pressure career as a CEO with a rigorous production schedule, establishing a new narrative for the modern multi-hyphenate in the dance music industry.
The foundations of the DJUCE sound were laid in the radio studios of Amsterdam, where a young DJ waited for the latest 12-inch imports to arrive from the United States. This era of physical media and fresh vinyl influenced a selection style that remains grounded in authenticity and rhythmic surprise. Transitioning from the radio booth to the club scene was a natural progression fueled by listener demand for track IDs and a desire to share the specific imports he sourced from niche Amsterdam record shops.
“It was the days that you waited for the latest 12-inch import records to come from the States. I went to this little shop in Amsterdam spending all my spare money on these records and left the plastic sealing on as a sign of fresh import.”
After a hiatus from the scene, DJUCE returned to the decks in Switzerland, discovering that while technology had evolved, the core appetite for house music remained unchanged. His sets today at iconic venues like Ministry of Sound and Cafe del Mar reflect a refusal to be pigeonholed, blending funky, jackinโ, and tech house with classics to keep the audience engaged through variation rather than standard Beatport trends.
The transition into music production was born from a specific frustration: the inability to find tracks on digital platforms that captured the exact feeling he wanted to project. Leveraging a childhood background in clarinet, saxophone, and piano, DJUCE adopted Ableton to translate his organic musical ear into a digital workstation. This shift allows him to navigate his dual life as a CEO and a producer, using the studio as a therapeutic counterpoint to the boardroom.
“Music is my therapy and my ‘other world’ which allows me to relax as well as release, something I cannot do in my day job as CEO. I love the combination and there is no work-life balance for me. It is all life and living it to the full!”
Despite the steep learning curve of modern software, his musical training provides a shortcut for composing melodies and rhythms. Releases like “The Groove” and “In Tha Air” demonstrate a solid technical foundation, while his upcoming April release signals a move toward progressive house, showcasing a willingness to ignore conventional advice regarding genre consistency in favour of musical exploration.
Central to the DJUCE project is the pursuit of euphoria – a feeling he believes is best captured on specific dancefloors. He expresses a preference for daytime festivals and outdoor beach clubs, such as Playa del Soleil in Ibiza, where the atmosphere allows for a higher level of emotional release than the dark, low-ceiling environments of late-night clubs. This focus on the psychological impact of the “drop” and “build-up” guides his current production toolkit.
“People are the same, no matter what age. We all want to escape our daily and life worries. Music transforms, transcends, even for a brief moment or a day part or a night.”
While he embraces the clean sound of digital production and the efficiency of modern technology, the analogue spirit of the 90s remains his primary influence. He views his current international run not as a continuation of his early days, but as an entirely new chapter informed by greater wisdom and a more advanced musical perspective. With plans to reintroduce vinyl into his setup and a release schedule focused on layering female vocals and emotional depth, DJUCE is positioning himself as a primary source for house music that prioritises the human connection over industry pressure.
