Ireland’s Sleepless Nights Recordings returns this week with their 11th overall release. It sees the debut of Dmitry Molosh to the label. The Belarus based producer has been building a solid discography over the last year with releases on Agara Music, Magic Room and Reelaux Digital. Dmitry’s debut EP for Sleepless Nights in entitled ‘Moonlit Night’ and it comes with two brand new original productions and a remix from Sleepless label bosses Soulfinder and Vincent Furlong.
The title track leads the EP off with a tough kick, and a wonderfully wobbly groove which is set against a glimmering atmospheric backdrop. As the atmosphere grows some bell like melodic clusters begin to accent the piece along with some soft rhythms which complement the groove nicely. The main break has Dmitry expanding on the melodic content with several interwoven harmonies playing off each other for a wonderful hypnotic vibe. The track climaxes with the groove coming back in strong and all the melodic and atmospheric themes coming together for a great moment.
The second original ‘SMPG’ begins with an uptempo groove that comes with a fantastically mesmerizing quality. Subtlety building atmospheres, glistening sweeps and futuristic electronics carry the smooth flowing groove to the main break. Here the expansive atmosphere really rises to the forefront before the rhythmic melodic lines get more pronounced and take centre stage. The hypnotics build with a classy restraint before the momentous groove drops back in for a soaring finish to the record.
The lone remix of ‘SMPG’ comes from the Sleepless Nights label bosses Soulfinder and Vincent Furlong who have provided a superb complement to the original. The duo has crafted a much meatier and more pronounced groove which really packs some serious dance floor punch. A new twist on the hypnotic elements from the original is accompanied with soft vocal pads and smooth chord changes which carry the track to the main drop. The break showcases some soft melodic stabs along with some panning, metallic tinged keys which sound absolutely fabulous. The break builds to a nice crescendo before the groove drops back in and the smooth chord changes reappear for a nice emotional finish. An all round great release from Sleepless Nights and one of our favourites thus far on the label. Highly Recommended. Release Promo Hype Chart #4
