Luis Bondio’s Classound Recordings returns this week after the hugely successful ‘Emotional Synthesis’ from early June. The labels sixth release features a new single from one of Greece’s most recognizable progressive house artists. We’ve been loving dPen’s productions for years and the progressive house underground seems to approve as well. dPen’s newest studio production for Classound is entitled ‘We Are All Greeks’ and it comes with remixes from Luis Bondio and Dale Middleton.
There are two versions from dPen, the original and a 2013 mix. The original has a really cool vibe with a chunky tech house style groove that’s surrounded by some wonderfully processed electronics. The sound design really stands out here, there are just so many intricate workings which complement the groove and add immensely to the trippy environment of the track. The spacey lead synths which enters after the breakdown are the true brilliance here though. Filled with lots of squirrelly sounding hooks and brain teasing twists it’s mind bendingly brilliant. The 2013 mix presents a much more percussive and even groovier touch. The outstanding elements from the original come with some new added twists and should be much better suited to today’s dance floors. Two spacey bombs from dPen and you really can’t go wrong with either.
The first remix comes from Classound label boss Luis Bondio who just had his first single on Nikko Z’s Dopamine Music released this week. It’s always a great week when there are two productions from Luis and his remix here is outstanding. The Classound headman has laid down a very club friendly framework with rolling clusters of glassy electronics which produce a unique hypnotic complement. The short break and subsequent quick build is going to have a huge impact on the floor as it comes back in with some serious punch and an even groovier vibe. Massive stuff from Luis.
The final remix is provided by the UK’s Dale Middleton who we think many will agree has become one of the best producers in the new landscape of progressive house. Dale’s worked some serious magic on ‘We Are All Greeks’ and delivered a sure fire club bomb. The lead hooks take on a completely new life when paired with Dale’s bouncy acidic groove. The boundless, romping energy the production has is going to work on a nice range of dance floors and don’t be surprised if you hear this one all summer long. Outstanding package from Luis Bondio’s Classound Recordings.
