The EXIT Festival Global Tour 2026 marks a historic shift for one of the world’s most influential music festivals. After 25 years at Serbia’s Petrovaradin Fortress, the festival has been forced to abandon its iconic home due to unprecedented political pressure from the Serbian government. Authorities reportedly targeted EXIT for its outspoken support of student-led anti-corruption protests, creating conditions that made it impossible to continue the festival at its traditional venue. In response, EXIT is taking its signature energy and ethos of freedom across the globe, turning political adversity into an international statement.
Founder and CEO Dušan Kovačević commented, “Music is more than entertainment — it builds bridges, unites cultures, and inspires change. EXIT is spreading its wings to awaken new generations and show that a better world is possible, starting with each of us.” The move underscores EXIT’s commitment to cultural freedom and resistance against political interference, demonstrating that the festival’s mission extends far beyond entertainment.
The first destinations of the 2026 tour were revealed during EXIT’s annual Amsterdam Dance Event party at the Crane Faralda, 50 meters above the city. The tour will kick off in Croatia at the Sea Star Festival in Umag, Istria, renowned for hosting global acts such as The Prodigy, Wu-Tang Clan, Paul Kalkbrenner, and Nina Kraviz. In June, EXIT will move to Macedonia, followed by a multi-location festival in Malta in August in partnership with leading local promoter G7 Events.
October sees the festival arriving in Egypt, performing near the Great Pyramids of Giza with Venture Lifestyle, a promoter behind events by Solomun, Peggy Gou, and Carl Cox. In November, EXIT Festival Global Tour debuts in India, hosting its first event in Mumbai, a city known for Bollywood, business, and nightlife.
Serbia will still play a role in the festival’s legacy through the No Sleep Festival in Belgrade, evolving into one of Europe’s largest electronic music gatherings. Belgrade has previously hosted artists like Amelie Lens, Nina Kraviz, Bicep, and Lee Burridge.
Additional destinations and the full 2026 program will be announced in the coming weeks, as EXIT Festival Global Tour reasserts its global influence, turning government opposition into an international statement of freedom, unity, and cultural defiance.
