The 148th release on Stellar Fountain welcomes Fernando Olaya to the back to the label.
The Colombian producer first appeared on the Hungarian imprint in December of last year with a remix of Robert R. Hardy’s ‘Horizons’. Parquet Recordings, Manual Music and System Recordings also show up on his discography and his first single for Stellar Fountain looks to be one of his best productions yet.
Fernando’s warm driving grooves have enticed many electronic music fans already and ‘Alquimista’ is sure to attract even more. In comparison to some of his previous work It’s a much deeper, more introspective creation. The hypnotic sensibilities are quite strong with a bed of fluid rhythms casting a wonderful late night roll. There’s a subtle build happening through the record as well which is led by a rather unassuming acid line which really creeps up on you as the track weaves its way through various transitions. A solid mood setting piece from Fernando that gets the release off to a nice start.
The first interpretation of ‘Alquimista’ is provided by Li-Polymer who is making his fifth appearance on Stellar Fountain. The Portuguese artist has long been one of his country’s most promising progressive house producers. From his early days with System Recordings and Mistique Music to his more recent appearances on 3rd Avenue, Classound and Balkan Connection Li-Polymer has been loved by electronic music fans worldwide. For his ‘Alquimista’ interpretation Li-Polymer has stayed true to the deep nature of the original and has also added some great groove and texture to the piece. The dancing electronic accents are quite catchy throughout and a tripped out middle section is the icing on the cake. Great stuff from Li-Polymer.
The second and final interpretation of ‘Alquimista’ is provided by Andres W who is making his fourth appearance on Stellar Fountain. Andres Wolovich aka Andres W hails from Argentina and began his production career in 2011 with a string of releases on Rezongar Music. Known for a cool, atmospheric style of progressive house Andre also has releases on Clinique Recordings, LuPS Records and System Recordings credited to his discography. For his ‘Alquimista’ interpretation Andres has gone with a bigger, fuller and more peak time oriented remix which really rocks. Backed by a powerful foundation of rippling bass waves it’s a record with a pretty massive presence even early on. As the atmospheres slowly fade into the mix gleaming electronic accents adorn the framework for a positively glowing effect. It’s pretty epic but in the best way imaginable. Awesome remix from Andres.
Rounding the release out is a second original from Fernando entitled ‘Florida’ which finds the Colombian producer with a more melodic approach. A lot of heartfelt melodies running through this one all over a bed of wickedly smooth chord changes. Beautiful stuff from Fernando and a solid release from Stellar Fountain.
