Following Light – Eye Of The Sahara (Genesis Music)

Genesis Music returns with a brand new single from Following Light this week.

Following Light - Eye Of The Sahara

The Michael A and Dmitry Molosh owned imprint has gotten much hype since their launch last month. All of the labels first three releases have appeared in the Beatport progressive house chart and this week they welcome Following Light for his debut appearance.

The Ukrainian producer and Inmost Records label owner has been busy of late with EPs for BCSA and System Recordings along with remixes for Abstract Space Recordings and Balkan Connection. His latest and also debut for Genesis Music is entitled ‘Eye Of The Sahara’ and features some of his most enchanting sounds yet. Following a minimalistic intro, a low slung bass line gets dropped in amidst the bleepy electronics. Dark stabs and lively rhythms then lift the vibe before a synth motif brings the track into the breakdown. Here a story board of electronics and phasing textures bring about an ominous mood before the beats return for a wicked finale. Great production from Following Light.

The lone interpretation of ‘Eye Of The Sahara’ is provided by Michael A who is making his fourth appearance on Genesis Music. The Belarus based producer just delivered one of his best remixes this year with a mellow, tripped out interpretation of Andrea Shu’s ‘Salut’ (also courtesy of Genesis Music). This man is a production machine, sometimes with two or three tracks released in one week and all with remarkable quality. His remix for ‘Eye Of The Sahara’ has once again been a hit amongst the underground DJs. It’s smooth rendition of the original elements is quite strong and the trancy synths leading into the break add a spookiness to the track which is quite interesting. Pulsating beats and phasing refrains dominate the third act which the audacious break sets up nicely. Wonderful remix from Michael A once again and another stellar release from Genesis Music, who after just four releases prove to be one of the underground’s most promising new labels.
