The 239th release on Balkan Connection features the return of G ‘N’ P Tauro to the label. The Argentinean producer has been one of Balkan Connection’s biggest contributors over the years and this is his 31st appearance on the label. His newest EP is entitled ‘Monte’ and it comes with two brand new original productions and remixes from Nicholas Van Orton and Matias Chilano.
The ‘Monte’ original is first and comes with a very percussive progressive groove. With lots of vast sounds complementing the framework the track has a great energy and vibe about it. The introduction of some gated stabs leads to the main breakdown which is a long atmospheric journey that has a very spiritual feel about it. The track’s framework keeps the groove locked with the drop slowly building tension and anticipation. A great build brings the groove back with some newly styled synth hooks which absolute rock through the second half of the record. A massive big room track from G ‘N’ P Tauro. The lone remix of ‘Monte’ comes from Nicholas Van Orton who has been delivering some top notch productions of late. The Argentinean producers remix of Beat Syndrome’s ‘Ceylon’ remained on our office playlist for months and his ‘Monte’ interpretation looks set for a similar fate. Nicholas has once again put a much more dance floor friendly spin on the track. A rolling bass line and driving drums combine for a really tightly constructed framework that rocks. Nicholas has incorporated the melodic elements nicely as well using them in a subtle and rhythmic way as to keep the production firmly rooted on the dance floor. Outstanding work from Nicholas.
The second original ‘On The Munch’s Bridge’ comes with another very cool progressive vibe. The smooth chord changes are lovely and the character filled sounds which sweep through the framework are quite captivating. The piece builds some serious momentum as the drum elements and rhythmic tones get added in. By the time the track reaches the drop the hypnotic energy is sky high and the grungy sounding breakdown just adds great atmosphere to the piece. The second half is very strong as well with the moody rhythms continuing to surround and captivate your senses. The lone remix of ‘On The Munch’s Bridge’ comes from the very busy Matias Chilano who we’ve been writing about a lot in recent weeks with his productions for 3rd Avenue, Mistique, Soundteller and Elliptical Sun. Here Matias keeps his run of perfectly produced progressive cuts intact with other stellar interpretation that turns out to be our favourite on the package. There is something about the atmosphere that Matias creates in all his productions; it just draws you in somehow and keeps you captivated on the track. It’s a tough thing to explain but an even tougher thing to achieve but he’s got it that’s for sure. His remix here is no different, just a wonderful journey into long panoramic atmospheres and tough, dance floor friendly beats. Superb stuff from Matias and an excellent package from Balkan Connection. Release Promo Hype Chart Top 25
