Hugo Ibarra & Uvo deliver one of their career best productions in ‘Isolote’ for Dopamine Music’s latest.
Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music has enjoyed a nice resurgence of the late. The Greek label has picked up its output momentum much to the delight of electronic fans. This week sees Dopamine welcoming Hugo Ibarra & Uvo to the label for its 30th overall release. The Mexican duo have been one of this year’s most talked about production acts. After teaming up in late 2013 Hugo and Uvo have gone on an incredible run that has seen them appear on Perspectives Digital, Movement Recordings and a host of other top underground imprints. Their debut single for Dopamine Music is entitled ‘Isolate’ and it comes with a remix from Graziano Raffa.
For those that love Hugo and Uvo’s spacey, atmospheric twist on progressive house ‘Isolate’ is bound to go straight to the front of your box. The duo’s tough techy framework is aimed squarely at the dance floor and it’s intoxicating surroundings are something to get truly lost in. From its gaseous atmospheres and subterranean groove to clever rhythms and rising hypnotics the first half of the record is a lesson in building subtle tension. The proceedings truly go off at around the six minute mark though with a dramatic build that is highlighted by warped rhythms and fresh electronics. The second half soars even higher with rippling tempos and a spacey complement that is truly captivating. Hugo and Uvo have really outdone themselves here and it’s resulted in one of the most inspiring studio creations of their career.
The lone remix is provided by Graziano Raffa who is making his first appearance on Dopamine Music. The Italian producer is loved not only for the outstanding job he does running Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music but also for his great studio creations and rousing DJ sets. Graziano’s discography includes releases on Asymmetric Recordings, 3rd Avenue, Stellar Fountain and of course Sudbeat Music. His recent ‘Red Rosa’ in conjunction with Lonya was one of this year’s most intriguing collaborations and he’s done a masterful job on his ‘Isolate’ interpretation. With a deeper and more refined approach Graziano has delivered an ideal complement to the original. The Italian producer’s unique rhythms and radical reinvention of the atmospheric elements have resulted in a late night hypnotic affair which is sure to light up your dance floor. It rounds out what is one of Dopamine Music’s best ever releases on a very strong note. Don’t miss it.
