Blue Iris Records is an independent melodic house and progressive house record label and event series co-founded in 2022 by French electronic music producers Kasbï and Giannni. The Paris-rooted platform showcases an emotionally driven electronic sound across global club destinations including Ibiza, Saint Barthélemy, Saint-Tropez, Mykonos, and Miami. In July 2026, the imprint expanded its discography with the release of the melodic house single Astral by Kasbï ahead of a collaborative track titled Ulu in August 2026.

The Strategic Focus of Blue Iris Records

French electronic music producers Kasbï and Giannni built their platform from a shared garage workspace, assembling melodies and organic textures before distributing recordings to international selectors. The initial studio sessions quickly garnered dancefloor traction, prompting the formal launch of the imprint in 2022 as a dedicated channel for their sonic identity.

The underlying philosophy dictates that every production relies on a pronounced melodic line and a sophisticated chord progression rather than passing temporary trends. This clinical focus on musicality allows the brothers to construct a cohesive catalogue that values emotional depth over sheer technical clinicality on the dancefloor.

Prior to launching the label, individual artistic residencies provided distinct cultural foundations for the co-founders. Kasbï, born Sacha Kasbi, commanded the DJ booth as the resident selector at La Casona de Camaná, a major techno venue in Lima, Peru, while Giannni performed vinyl sets across the electronic club network of Seoul, South Korea.

These contrasting international experiences merged seamlessly into a unified creative vision. Sacha Kasbi grew up studying live guitar, drums, and keyboards, whereas Giannni honed his musical education digging through Paris record stores to construct a collection deeply rooted in groove and organic percussion elements.

We started by simply making music together in our garage, playing instruments and experimenting with sounds. One day, we decided to record our sessions and send them to some DJ friends. They started supporting our music, which encouraged us to release our tracks on streaming platforms.

Travel heavily influences the sonic direction of the platform, drawing aesthetic and musical cues from prominent clubbing destinations such as Ibiza, Saint Barthélemy, Saint-Tropez, Mykonos, and Miami. Instead of replicating regional trends, the brothers channel these coastal atmospheres into immersive club environments that expand beyond standard electronic music club programming.

In 2023, the duo initiated specialized events in Saint Barthélemy, incorporating sensory elements to redefine the standard electronic club experience. The curation extends to tangible design, utilizing authentic decor sourced from Morocco and New York alongside specific atmospheric choices.

Persian carpets, vintage lamps, heavy fabrics, and burning candles dress the performance spaces, while live musicians, fire performers, and palo santo incense alter the room dynamics. This meticulous approach ensures that the crowd engages with the underlying emotional narrative of the performance rather than experiencing a standard DJ set.

When we launched our first Blue Iris events in St. Barths in 2023, we immediately saw there was room for something different. We wanted people to experience electronic music in another way. We quickly understood that the music alone wasn’t enough. We had to build an entire environment around it.

The creative partnership relies on an unconventional studio workflow where the brothers work in isolation rather than sharing physical studio time. One artist initiates a track sketch independently before transferring the project files to the other, ensuring that each decision undergoes evaluation with a completely fresh perspective.

This distinct separation optimizes their productivity and acts as a primary creative strength. Giannni possesses an innate capacity to identify missing elements and execute final arrangements, resulting in a balanced sound that fuses live percussion with digital synthesis reminiscent of artists like RÜFÜS DU SOL, MONOLINK, and BLOND:ISH.

Melodic progression systematically supersedes technical perfection within their productions, aiming to generate unexpected contrast and dramatic tension on the dancefloor. Blending organic instrumentation with synthesised electronic layers injects a human quality that distinguishes their catalogue within a highly saturated global landscape.

We discovered that the best way for us to produce music is actually to work separately. We both share the same musical vision, but instead of sitting together in the studio all day, one of us usually starts a track alone and then sends it to the other. Listening with fresh ears makes a huge difference.

The annual gathering at Burning Man significantly altered their musical outlook, offering exposure to multi-directional soundscapes and dense atmospheric textures across the playa. The lack of digital distractions and a profound focus on human interaction reshaped how the duo perceives acoustic design and community engagement.

The co-founders manage artistic curation during regional gather sessions, establishing a network of international relationships by hosting guest selectors. An unscripted takeover of an art car led to an extended downtempo performance, cementing their ties within the global electronic community and leading to high-profile stages alongside international underground talent.

Burning Man opened so many doors for us, both musically and personally. The first time we arrived there, we experienced electronic music in a completely different way. Sound was coming from every direction. We heard textures, atmospheres and details that felt almost unreal. Everything sounded alive and tangible.

In July 2026, Kasbï advanced the label catalog with the release of his single Astral, a record showcasing a robust bassline tracked via a hardware Moog synthesiser. The production emphasizes energetic arrangements designed to transition seamlessly between standard club spaces, outdoor festival stages, and sunset beach sessions.

The impending arrival of their collaborative track Ulu in August 2026 signals the next developmental phase for the independent company. The brothers systematically balance rhythmic drive with unexpected lead melodies, ensuring each release remains memorable while preserving dancefloor utility.

The long-term objectives for the platform center on cultivating a global collective of like-minded producers who reject formulaic electronic music trends. With tracks like Astral and Ulu, we wanted to create records that could work anywhere whether in clubs, at festivals, during a sunset session or even on a road trip. Strong basslines recorded with our Moog synthesizer, emotional melodies and powerful drops have become key elements of our sound.
