One of the standout selections from Jelly For The Babies ‘Dream Hunter Chronicles’ LP was in fact the title track. It not only showed that the Serbian producer was capable of much more than traditional progressive house but it set the stage for even more unique productions to follow. Now for Balkan Connection’s 278th overall release we see “Dream Hunter Chronicles’ getting it’s official single release along with two brand new remixes from: Yoram and Zack Roth.
The first remix comes from Yoram who was considered by many as one of 2011’s best new names in electronic music. His first two releases came courtesy of Eelke Kleijn’s Outside The Box Music and he has since gone on to appear on Sound Avenue and Crossfrontier Audio. This is Yoram’s third appearance on Balkan Connection and he’s crafted a superb remix of ‘Dream Hunter Chronicles’. In adding a more punchy, tech house vibe the Dutch producer has brought the production much closer to a broader range of dance floors. The heavy drums and prominent claps are quite dynamic together and give the track a very vibrant feel. And when you add in the complement of vocal elements combined with soft rhythmic tones you’ve got a great hypnotic component as well. It’s the subtle build throughout the record though that’s going to be dynamite when you’re trying to properly warm-up a room. Great remix from Yoram who would have to be one of the more under-rated producers out there at the moment.
The second and final remix comes from Zack Roth who is making his first appearance on Balkan Connection. The US producer has an impressive discography with appearances on Anjunadeep, Silk Royal and Enhanced Music. Zack is also an accomplished DJ having opened for Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz, and Ferry Corsten at some of New York’s hottest venues. His interpretation of ‘Dream Hunter Chronicles’ has turned out fabulously as well. Zack’s more traditional progressive take on it adds even more variety to the release and really shines with its excellent atmospheric presence and warm, hypnotic sensibilities. Great stuff from Zack and an excellent release from Balkan Connection and Jelly For The Babies.
