The latest release on Majestic Family Records finds John Drummer making his debut on the label with ‘Give Me Your Heart’.
The Hungarian producer began his production career in February of 2012 with a string of releases on BCSA. He then found a home on one of Hungary’s premier progressive house imprints Stellar Fountain where he’s appeared seven times. 2015 has already been quite busy for John having released his ‘You & Me’ single on Stellar Fountain and his latest ‘Give Me Your Heart’ looks equally exciting.
The original mix leads the release off with a trippy hypnotic vibe which has become a trademark of John’s. Breathy vocals, spacey designs and a nice collection of rolling drums all standout over the first half. A more distinctive theme fades into the mix at the midway point and brings the track into pixie territory. The main break expands further with a prominent riff which sets up a stripped re-entry that absolutely rocks. Great stuff from John.
The first interpretation of ‘Give Me Your Heart’ is provided by Magnetic Brothers who are making their debut on Majestic Family Records. The Russian duo (and actual brothers) Anton and Arthur Golubev make up the Magnetic Brothers duo and have amazed electronic music fans over the last five years with their incredibly diverse sound. Key appearances on Movement Recordings and Balkan Connection have been highlights along with their own Deep Blue Eyes imprint which continually pushes fresh talent. For their ‘Give Me Your Heart’ interpretation the Magnetic Brothers have put their own funky twist on the track with a dubby, well shaped groove and subtle reinvention of the main theme from the original. It’s definitely got a good nose for the dance floor and one of the Magnetic Brothers grooviest remixes in a while. Awesome work from Anton and Arthur.
The second interpretation of ‘Give Me Your Heart’ is provided by Rogier & Stage Van H who are also making their first appearance on Majestic Family Records. The duo’s warm, fluid rhythms and driving grooves earned them tons of new fans in 2014 and they’ve already been very busy in 2015 with releases on Just Movement, Abstract Space Recordings, Classound Recordings and Movement Recordings. For their ‘Give Me Your Heart’ interpretation Rogier and Stage have opened up the vocals quite a bit and reshaped the groove into a rolling beast. The instrumentation from the original has also been reworked in a more subtle and esoteric manner. The end result is a mix that has both emotion and a laid back, groovy feel; and a great complement to the previous two versions. Beautiful remix from Rogier and Stage.
The final interpretation of ‘Give Me Your Heart’ is provided by Robert R. Hardy who is making his fourth appearance on Majestic Family Records. The Hungarian producer has been one of the go to remixers for that deep, hypnotic and enchanting sound that’s so in demand in the progressive underground. His ‘Vibrations’ single out this week on Soundteller Records along with ‘Chicago Sunrise’ released on 238 West late last year are two favourites of mine and he’s closed out this release with another deep and dreamy beauty. Robert’s reworked bass line carries some nice funk while the panning vocal snips and ethereal atmospheres make for a very enchanting journey. Robert’s incredibly prolific but he always seems to pull out something cool on almost each and every production. This one is no different. Great remix from Robert and a top notch release from Majestic Family Records. Don’t miss it.
