Kamilo Sanclemente – Skywalker (Mistique Music)

The latest release on Mistique Music welcomes Kamilo Sanclemente to the label for a brand new EP.

Kamilo Sanclemente

The Colombian producer has been hotly tipped this year with releases on Baroque Records, Perspectives Digital and Stellar Fountain. Kamilo now makes his first appearance on the Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic owned imprint with ‘Skywalker’ which includes two brand new original tracks.

The release begins with ‘Deimos’ which finds Kamilo crafting a dark, funky progressive cut. Powerful bass stabs, ominous vocal samples and some wonderful hypnotic elements make for a wicked first act. There’s a real heads down mentality here which a spaced out breakdown only enhances before that dark, chunky groove returns for a big moment. Some rising modulation through the third act does an amazing job at bringing the tension up and ultimately makes for a stellar conclusion. Nice work from Kamilo.

The companion piece and also the EPs title cut ‘Skywalker’ keeps the dark vibes flowing. Again anchored by a powerful, driving groove and a myriad of cutting edge designs it strikes a big presence early. The gyrating lines and rolling rhythms continue to build as the main break approaches before a band of phasing noise raises the energy a notch higher. Some lovely distortion during the drop along with an underlying layer set the stage for a rush of white noise and swirling atmospheres which deliver a monstrous payoff. Huge track from Kamilo which rounds out this excellent EP in fine style. A great signing for Mistique Music. Don’t miss it.
