The 140th release on Majestic Family Recordings welcomes Kay-D back to the label for a brand new single.
The Hungarian melody master and long time Mistique Music artist has continued to dazzle old school fans with his timeless progressive grooves. HIs latest for Majestic Family is entitled ‘Hydraulic Pressure’ which includes remixes from Rogier & Stage Van H, Tash and Alex Vidal.
The original mix leads the release off and finds Kay-D crafting another slow building melodic masterpiece. The grating synths lines and driving groove are a throwback to the early days of progressive house while his storyboard of poignant themes might be one of his best this year. The first act teases a tranquil motif over the framework before an extended break really brings it to life. You can tell Kay-D makes music from his heart and the emotion is definitely pure here. It’s nice that the payoff brings the vibe down rather than continuing to a place which would be just too large and overblown. Wonderful work from Kay-D.
The first interpretation of ‘Hydraulic Pressure’ is provided by Rogier & Stage Van H who are making their third appearance on Majestic Family Records. The much loved duo and Just Movement artists have continued their prolific production ways all through the summer season, with a long line of releases on Abstract Space Recordings, Clinique Recordings, PHW Elements and Stellar Fountain. The duo’s warm, fluid style is always a welcome addition to any project and they’ve turned in a very nice remix of ‘Hydraulic Pressure’ here. The smoother, more streamlined approach complements Kay-D’s grander original perfectly and great use of the vocal elements really makes this mix extra special. Great remix from Rogier & Stage Van H.
The second interpretation of ‘Hydraulic Pressure’ is provided by Tash who is making his first appearance on Majestic Family. The Movement Recordings boss has been travelling the festival circuit once again this summer and now some of his hard studio work from the previous months is starting to see the light. Most recently Tash’s remixes for Ben Coda and One Million Toys were unleashed to great review and to tide people over until his new original works he’s delivered a great remix of ‘Hydraulic Pressure’ here. Aptly coined ‘Warehouse’ Tash’s interpretation comes with a more techno inspired sensibility, particularly over the first act. The tough, punchy groove eventually opens up though and the break unveils all of Kay-D’s wonderful melodies to great effect. The impact of such harmonious music is quite strong and the beauty is it all gets washed away momentarily for a killer re-entry, before rebuilding to an understated yet gorgeous conclusion. Really strong remix from Tash.
The third and final interpretation of ‘Hydraulic Pressure’ is provided by Alex Vidal who is making his third appearance on Majestic Family Records. The Spanish artist has been pushing his unique brand of progressive trance since making his production debut in September of 2013. He calls Bonzai Records and JOOF Records home while also having a long line of productions on OLD SQL Recordings, Mistique Music and Stellar Fountain. For his ‘Hydraulic Pressure’ interpretation Alex has taken all those wonderful melodic elements and reinvented them over one of his driving, energetic grooves. Rough, well textured stabs and a wide array of spacey designs play off each other while Kay-D’s melodic hooks shine brightly high above. An epic conclusion not only finishes the track off nicely buts closes out the release in grand fashion. Nice remix from Alex and a great release from Majestic Family once again. Don’t miss it.
