Kyo Koichii – Spit On You (Clinique Recordings)

Clinique Recordings welcomes Kyo Koichii to the label this week with his latest studio creation ‘Spit On You’.

Kyo Koichii - Spit On You

Born in Budapest, Hungary but now living in London, UK Kyo has just four production credits on his discography, all from 2013 so it’s been a year plus since he’s released any new material. He’s certainly back in a big way on Clinique with ‘Spit On You’ which includes a remix from the always awesome Dousk.

Kyo must have been working hard in the studio the last year and half because he’s comeback with a much fresher sound. Based around a funky tech house groove and a catchy selection of vocal elements ‘Spit On You’ is one of those tunes that’s got a unique and very club friendly vibe. Accompanying the vocal hooks are a sets of tonal stabs, metallic hits and rhythmic thrusts all of which add even more funk to the groove. A short break furthers the anticipatory vibes and sets up a wicked second half which is sure to dynamite on the floor. Excellent stuff from Kyo.

The lone remix of ‘Spit On You’ is provided Dousk who is making his first appearance on Clinique Recordings. Famed for releases on Bedrock and Vapour the Greek artist continues to be one of the most loved and sought after producers in the underground. 2014 saw standout releases on System Recordings, Soundteller Records, Tulipa and Sprout along with a healthy amount of gigs across the globe. For his ‘Spit On You’ interpretation Dousk has taken those funky sensibilities from the original and put his own incredible spin on them. Layered beats and some of the wickedest bass stabs you’ll ever hear make up an absolutely deadly groove. The additional vocal elements add a lot as well; so bright and vibrant, with the perfect flair to accompany such a unique sounding record. It all amounts to one of this year’s coolest dance floor jams. You should be hearing this one a lot in the coming months, great stuff from Dousk and a top notch release from Clinique Recordings, one of the best ever on the label. Highly Recommended.
