Lanvary – Chaos Theory (Suffused Music)

The Lanvary duo make their debut appearance on Suffused Music this week for the labels sixth overall release. Alex Sanches and Andrew first came to our attention when they remixed Derek Howell’s ‘Stride’ with their Nkoder & Kinky Shores alias a few years back. Their Lanvary alias has put together a very strong discography thus far with releases on Mistique, Stellar Fountain and Underphunk. Lanvary’s debut single for Suffused is entitled ‘Chaos Theory’ and it comes with remixes from: Cybernalia, Deepshader & Nazca and Samotarev.

Lanvary’s original mix is a very cool blend of psychedelic and progressive sounds. The dark, acidic groove packs some serious dance floor energy and will delight fans of the European psy-prog crossover sound. The versatility of the track cannot be overstated as it could be used for the early part of the night if you’re a psy-trance DJ or as a peak time record for a progressive house DJ. Either way it’s a fine production from Lanvary. The first remix is provided by the Irish duo Cybernalia who are making their debut on Suffused. Bryan Corr and Clark Elwood aka Cybernalia have taken all those crisp elements from the original and crafted a slightly groovier interpretation that really rocks. The vocal samples sound absolutely epic over all the dark electronics and ominous sounding atmospheres while the crunchy processing is brain melting to say the least. A huge remix from Cybernalia. Next up Deepshader & Nazca provide a more melodic interpretation that complements the previous bigger sounding versions really well. Haunting vocal pads, drifting atmospheres and a killer groove with some wicked bounce all combine for a solid remix form Deepshader & Nazca. The package is closed out by one of Russia’s finest up and coming producers Samotarev. Samotarev Alexy aka Samotarev is one of the owners of the always excellent Green Snake imprint and his first remix for Suffused turns out to one of the coolest on the package. Samotarev has taken all the crisp elements from the original and has crafted a more techno inspired remix. The raspy synth lines rip through the atmosphere with ferocity while Samotarev’s bouncy groove is sure to delight the dance floor. Solid release again from Suffused who are starting to gain some nice momentum.
