The 32nd release on 238W welcomes LOM to the label for his debut EP.
The Argentinean producer has been hotly tipped since returning from a nearly five year hiatus. A single for Golden Wings Music along with a 3 track EP for 3rd Avenue have been highlights and his latest for 238W promises to be his strongest work yet.
LOM has been noted for his dark, tripped out take on progressive house and the lead cut here ‘Another World’ is another fabulous excursion into those realms. Anchored by a driving groove it’s LOM’s uniquely tailored motifs which really shine here. From a shimmering hypnotic lead to a band of warped electronics which make up the main break, there is a wealth of sensory entertainment here. It’s an approach that could sound quite muddled but LOM’s pulled it off in fine style. Excellent work.
The companion piece ‘Celta’ goes even deeper into the depths of contoured designs and psychedelic storyboards. Backed by another strong groove and prominent drums, a wide array of rich, spacey effects begin to assault your senses. It’s the long drawn out manner with which their executed that really makes this such a pleasurable experience. Add to that some well timed vocal gates and a swirling wall of white noise during the third act and you’ve really got a monstrous tune. Wonderful stuff from LOM and a great signing for 238W. Highly Recommended.
