Mitrinique’s Sound Avenue imprint returns for their 19th overall release this week and it looks to be the labels biggest to date. Dominique Heyninck (one half of Mitrinique) started his Madloch alias just 9 months ago and has already chalked up a string of releases which have earned radio and chart support from Hernan Cattaneo. The Canadian duo Beat Syndrome have recently returned from a very successful European tour and after a string of solid releases to start off 2013 the duo looks set for even bigger and better things going forward. Now for Sound Avenue’s 19th release Dominique has teamed up with Beat Syndrome for the trio’s newest studio production entitled ‘Waiting Game’ which includes remixes from: Luis Junior and Facundo Mohrr.
The ‘Waiting Game’ original leads the package off on an incredibly strong note. A slightly gloomy atmosphere combined with poignant shakers and rhythmic stabs give the piece immediate dance floor recognition early on. Those rhythmic electronic sequences prove to be some deadly hooks as the energy and overall tension builds mightily towards the main drop. Here wavering tones set a warped and druggy sounding backdrop which more than provides some palpable tension. A spooky synth hook cues those utterly infectious stabs which gradually build in intensity for a wicked payoff that’s sure to go down well on floor.
The first remix is supplied by Luis Junior who is making his Sound Avenue debut here. Spanish producer Luis Junior continued his assault on the global electronic scene with 2012 releases on Sudbeat, microCastle, Flow, Natura Sonoris and his own Mooseekaa imprint. It’s remarkable how Luis finds the time for all this amazing studio work as his DJ schedule is one of the busiest at the moment. With gigs in Indonesia, Australia, Mexico, Canada, Ukraine, Lebanon, Romania, Dominican Republic, Russia and the UK to close out 2012 Luis Junior’s sound has become truly global. The trademark Luis Junior production touch is unmistakable and he’s worked his studio magic on ‘Waiting Game’ yet again. Luis has laid down his titanium coated beats which carve out a wicked groove early on. The hook heavy lead has been processed with a unique feel which solidifies yet another futuristic techno masterpiece from the Spaniard. Luis’ remix has already been charted by Hernan Cattaneo so it’s certainly one you don’t want to miss.
The second and final ‘Waiting Game’ remix comes from the Buenos Aires based producer Facundo Mohrr. This marks Facundo’s second appearance on the label with his first coming just over a year ago with his remix of Mitrinique’s ‘Green Mountains’ which turned out to be a smashing success. Releases on Tronic and Asymmetric saw Facundo close out 2012 extremely strong and his ‘Waiting Game’ remix gets 2013 off to a great start. Backed with a chunky groove that’s surrounded with lots of moody overtones and fresh electronics Facundo’s interpretation rocks right out of the gate. The tasteful acid lines just enhance the groove that much further and the grinding electronics deliver the right amount tension as the track thunders down following the main drop. Incredibly groovy stuff from Facundo. Release Promo Hype Chart #1
