Mariano Favre – Sacrifice (Mistique Music)

Argentina’s Mariano Favre returns to Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic’s Mistique Music this week for a new single. Mariano had a great year in 2012 with releases on Darin Epsilon’s Perspectives Digital and Lowbit Records. Mariano’s new single for Mistique is entitled ‘Sacrifice’ and it comes with remixes from: Suffused, Loquai and Alejo Gonzalez.

Sacrifice’ is Mariano’s first original of 2013 and it certainly goes down as one of his best. Backed with a tough kick, dark electronics and a wicked acid stab a cool underground mood forms early on. As the track grows smooth vocal samples, and subtle melodic accents surround the framework as the breakdown approaches. The main drop strips itself right down and showcases a soulful synth wail and the character driven acid line. The build up is slow and deliberate which should be brilliant on the dance floor and when the subtle harmonics come back in during the second half they provide just the right amount of emotional content without going too far. Superb stuff from Mariano.

The first remix comes from Argentinean producer Alejo Gonzalez who is making his first appearance on Mistique after a couple of outings on Mistique Digital in 2011. Alejo’s ‘Sacrifice’ remix is a deeper more atmosphere take on Mariano’s tougher original. The flowing groove builds throughout the duration of the record and the moody break is sure to create a wicked vibe on the floor. Mistique Music legend Loquai is next and he’s crafted a dreamy melodic interpretation that we think is one of his most unique sounding productions to date. The clever beat patterns give the framework immense dance floor funk and the trippy incandescent melodies must be heard to be believed. Fans of the old school pixie sound should absolutely love this one. The final remix on the package comes from Suffused who are making their second appearance on Mistique this year and  14th overall. Fresh of launching their new ‘Suffused Music’ imprint the Lithuanian boys have delivered a top notch rework of ‘Sacrifice’. The thick and heavily textured Suffused sound lays down the perfect backdrop while the prominent melodic sequences tease the senses over the top.  The main break has some serious impact as well with the trippy vocal elements and wispy atmospherics delivering a cool cinematic vibe. Top notch stuff from Suffused and a wicked package from Mistique which is currently at no.35 in the Beatport Progressive House chart. Release Promo Hype Chart Top 25
