Luis Bondio’s Classound Recordings returns this week for their ninth overall release. It’s been a strong year for Luis’ new imprint and it looks to close the year out with a great collaboration from two of Argentina’s top up and coming producers. Matias Larrosa & Nico Sparvieri are both household names in their home country and have collectively appeared on System, Mistique, Stripped and Liquid Grooves. Their debut single for Classound is entitled ‘Tuning Beyond’ and it comes with remixes from John Axiom and Paul Lennar.

Those of you that enjoyed Matias and Nico’s remix of Matias Chilano ‘Autopilot’ will absolutely love ‘Tuning Beyond’. The percussive groove is filled with great hypnotic qualities, fresh electronics and most of all a nice momentous energy. Big atmospheric sweeps descend over the piece as the subtle musicality begins to take shape. Smooth sheets of mesmerizing rhythms only add to the big energy of the track and ultimately push it close to peak time territory. The break winds things down nicely with a hypnotic backdrop, glitchy electronics and a nice build which sets the stage for a big conclusion. Top track from Matias and Nico, hopefully they work together more in the future.

The first remix is supplied by John Axiom who is making his first appearance on Classound. The Spanish producer has been crafting some great productions this year. His remixes for Baires and Balkan Connection have really stood out and he’s one of the more underrated producers in progressive house. John’s ‘Tuning Beyond’ interpretation is his best of the year in our opinion though. In an age of increasingly deep music John has never been afraid to craft something big and unabashedly epic. His ‘Tuning Beyond’ rework is absolutely massive; it takes the great themes from the original and just adds a greater sense of musicality and epic flare. Outstanding stuff from John.

The final remix on the release comes from our favourite Colombian producer Paul Lennar. It’s been another great year for Paul not only on the DJ circuit but also in the studio with a long line of productions this year for Sleepless Nights, Clinqiue, Magic Room and Suffused. Paul’s remix here marks his first appearance on Classound and he’s closed the package out on a high note. The Colombian’s deeper take on ‘Tuning Beyond’ adds a nice balance to the release. The smooth groove has an effortless glide with a barrage of washed out atmospherics laying down a nice haze over the top. It’s one of those pieces that doesn’t really have any striking elements but the great grooves and rolling hypnotics really suck you in. Great work from Paul and a top notch release from Classound.
