Max Freegrant – Phantom / London Stories (Movement Recordings)

The 80th release on Movement Recordings features the debut of one of the Ukraine’s most well known progressive house producers. Max Freegrant has been pushing his club friendly progressive sound with great success in recent years. Max’s collaborations with Jerome Isma-Ae and Paul Thomas have been absolutely massive and his Freegrant Music imprint now boasts a discography with over 60 releases. Max’s debut EP for Movement Recordings is entitled ‘Phantom’ and it comes with two brand new original productions.

The title cut leads the release off with an undoubtedly big presence. The vibrant tones and crunchy sounding groove set an amazing electricity at the outset. As the epically styled stabs slowly work their way into the mix the big room energy is undeniable. The main break pushes your emotions even further with lively sounding harmonics and a dramatic payoff that is sure to have your dance floor in a complete frenzy. The companion piece ‘London Stories’ comes with a similarly bouncy vibe and electric energy. The crisp beats and driving rhythms push the piece to the main drop. Here a wicked set of bassy swells delivers some wonderful harmonic content while the anthemic top end sends shivers down your spine before the killer groove drops back in for a huge finish.
