The latest offering on Magic Room finds the label updating one of their strongest releases ‘Memories’ by Michael A & Dmitry Molosh.
Originally released in April of this year the melodic progressive bomb now sits atop Magic Room’s best selling tracks on Beatport and it was also regarded as one of Michael and Dmitry’s finest collaborative works. The label now calls upon Ezequiel Anile and Li-Polymer to update the track for the summer season.
The first interpretation of of ‘Memories’ is provided by Ezequiel Anile who is making his first appearance on Magic Room. The Argentinean producer and sometime studio partner of Nicolas Petracca is fresh off the release of ‘The Form of Your Words’ courtesy of Stellar Fountain which was his first solo production in about eight months. It was a fabulous piece of music and Ezequiel keeps that momentum going with a great interpretation of ‘Memories’ here. Anchored by a deep and groovy foundation it’s smooth momentous flow is quite appealing all through the first act. Subtle atmospherics and hazy hypnotics carry the track forward while indistinct motifs continue to tantalize the senses. The main break presents an enchanting storyboard of swirling atmospheres which reaches a delicate apex before the groove returns for a smooth finish. A wonderfully produced deep complement to the original from Ezequiel.
The second and final interpretation of ‘Memories’ is provided by Li-Polymer who is making his first appearance on Magic Room. We last heard from the Portuguese producer in March of this year when his remix of ‘Vibrations’ by Robert R. Hardy was released courtesy of Deersky’s Soundteller Records. Li-Polymer continues to keep his production volume lower than the current norm and it always makes his latest work highly anticipated. His ‘Memories’ interpretation is no different and the result is a deep and dreamy beauty in that inimitable Li-Polymer style. The melodic elements from the original have been re-imagined into a glimmering hypnotic wall which carries the track for much of the first act. The groove then strips down and the subtleties of the mix begin to shine. The acidic-like stabs and haunting lead motif make for a strong third act and that vocal pad adds a lovely overlay which takes the track into celestial territory. Beautiful interpretation from Li-Polymer and a top notch remix EP form Magic Room. Don’t miss it.
