Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic – Follow Me (Sound Avenue)

Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic spent the early part of their career primarily releasing their productions on their own Mistique Music imprint but the last 12 months have seen the trio really branch out with releases on Mesmeric, Movement, OLD SQL, Bonzai and Clinique, Their sound too has also been  a lot more broad which is why so many new labels are taking notice. A deeper more hypnotic sound was showcased on Mesmeric and Movement has earned them support from Hernan Cattaneo and Microtrauma.  Now for Sound Avenue’s 18th release we see Michael, Levan and Stiven Rivic with their debut single for the label entitled ‘Follow Me’ which comes with a first rate set of remixes from: Lank, Yoram and Scotty A.

‘Follow Me’ certainly goes down as one of the trios most infectious and floor friendly productions to date. An  up-tempo groove that’s filled with hypnotic rhythms, subtle vocal pads and gargantuan atmo-sweeps brings the track to the main drop. Here the introduction of a set of vibrant tones brings the energy to near skyscraper level before the enormous spacey sweep descends down to bring the hypnotic groove back for an epic finish. This one’s massive, one of Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic’s best.

The first remix comes from Lank who is returning to Sound Avenue for his third overall appearance and second remix for the label. Lank is certainly Hungary’s most well known electronic music producer and he’s continued to build on that success in 2012 with releases on microCastle and Proton not mention building his Colorblock alias which has been doing some exceptionally cool stuff.  For his ‘Follow Me’ interpretation Lank has transformed the track into a deep and groovy masterpiece that’s full of subtle melodic themes and quirky hooks that really standout here.

The second interpretation comes from Yoram who is making his first appearance on Sound Avenue. Joram Zijlmans aka Yoram hails from The Netherlands and is well known for two outstanding EPs and a remix for Eelke Kleijn’s Outside The Box Music label. Joram’s ‘Follow Me’ interpretation comes with the most club friendly groove on the package. It’s packed with good energy, vibrant stabs and a growing atmospheric backdrop which provides some nice tension throughout. Some soft and soulful vocal stabs are a real highlight in the mix and complement the groove perfectly. Fabulous stuff from Yoram.

The final remix comes from UK producer Scotty A. who made a huge impact on Sound Avenue’s sister imprint Crosssfade Sounds with his remix of Noa Romana & Deersky’s ‘Metamorphosis’. The track was #1 in our overall Hype Chart and was also selected as one of Beatport’s Must Hear Progressive House records for the week of its release. Scotty’s ‘Follow Me’ interpretation comes with his trademark atmospheric brilliance. Filled with angelic vocal pads, shimmering electronics and soaring soundscapes it’s sure to take the listener on a blissful journey and it’s still great for the dance floor as it’s rooted with a chunky groove that packs some punch. Another rock solid release from Sound Avenue that showcases some of Michael, Levan and Stiven Rivic’s best work to date. Release Promo Hype Chart #6
