Miss Monique Biorhythm Show Represents Peak Melodic Techno Spectacle Bloat

Despite unreleased tracks and high production value, Miss Monique’s Biorhythm Tomorrowland debut reinforces the death of activity on the dancefloor.

Miss Monique, the Ukrainian melodic techno DJ, debuted her Biorhythm live visual project at the Freedom Stage during Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium, on 19 July 2026. The 90-minute performance combined generative industrial visuals with electronic music, marking another entry into the saturated market of big-stage visual spectacles. The production forces audiences into passive observation, prioritising cinematic screen graphics over traditional dancefloor dynamics.

The electronic music industry is currently experiencing a severe case of big stage bloat, with Biorhythm arriving precisely as the format passes its expiration date. Anyma pioneered this exact massive-screen audiovisual blueprint with the Genesys project. Artbat replicated the formula shortly after, followed rapidly by Camelphat and numerous others operating within the melodic techno space. A bespoke visual rig is now a mandatory, yet thoroughly unoriginal, requirement for artists attempting to secure main stage festival billing.

This formatting transforms club culture into static cinema. Audiences at the Freedom Stage on 19 July 2026 stood rigidly in place in parts, holding smartphones in the air to record pre-rendered graphics rather than getting lost in the music. The emphasis on high-definition generative imagery completely dilutes the raw, underground ethos of electronic dance music. The spectacle demands a stationary crowd, resulting in a disconnected sea of phone screens capturing content for social media attention.

The Biorhythm debut featured heavy promotion of unreleased material from the Siona Records imprint. The setlist opened with a new edit of the Miss Monique track ‘Concorde’. The 90-minute performance also included an unheard rework of ‘Around’ by Noir & Haze, alongside a modern melodic techno remix of the 1990s Belgian techno classic ‘Age Of Love’. The set closed with the debut of a forthcoming single titled ‘The Unknown’, featuring vocals from Delilah Montagu.

The visual narrative of the project attempts to juxtapose artificial intelligence and industrial machinery against organic elements. The production relies heavily on the exact same high-contrast, dystopian aesthetics that currently dominate the tired melodic techno genre. The thematic execution offers minimal deviation from the existing industry standard for large-scale electronic music events in 2026.

Biorhythm shows that despite today’s industrial world of AI & technology, nature still finds its way through. The show tries to show that these two extremes are not in conflict, but in the balance. Nature gives us hope for generations to come, and I am so excited to bring it centre stage in my Biorhythm shows. It was amazing, humbling, to feel the support and excitement of the crowd at the premiere! Many of the tracks in my set were unreleased, a lot of them from artists on my own Siona Records label. Three additional international dates are confirmed for the Biorhythm project throughout the remainder of 2026. Mandarine Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina, will host the production on 3 October 2026. The show then moves to the United States for an appearance at the Brooklyn Hall within Pacha NYC on 13 November 2026. The final scheduled performance for the calendar year takes place at Phantom in Paris, France, on 27 November 2026.

Melodic Techno Visual Spectacles

The Ukrainian maintains a high-profile presence across the global festival circuit, independent of the Biorhythm project. The DJ secured a second consecutive summer residency at Hi Ibiza for the 2026 season. Additional bookings include performances at Kappa FuturFestival in Italy, Ultra Europe in Croatia, Awakenings in the Netherlands, and Brunch Electronik in Spain. She is also scheduled for five appearances at UNVRS Ibiza alongside David Guetta, Anyma, and Carl Cox.

The Siona Records founder has experienced a rapid ascent in industry polling over the past 24 months. Following a Best Breakthrough DJ win at the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2024, Miss Monique secured the Best Progressive / Melodic House DJ award in 2025. The DJ also entered the 2025 DJ Magazine Top 100 poll at position 75. Miss Monique performs on the Tomorrowland Main Stage on 24 July 2026, marking a third successive year at the Belgian festival.

The proliferation of synchronized visual shows signals a concerning homogenisation of electronic music performances.
