Morpei was born in Bolivia and found much success at a very young age in his country, which is no small feat. Since moving to the US at 18, his success only skyrocketed. The young artist has mastered his signature sound to become a notable global talent, and has appeared on multiple festival stages and labels. Now his second time on Desert Hearts Records, Morpei’s new EP, “Desert Faith,” is his first full EP on the label.
“Desert Faith” is a perfect example of Morpei’s retro-turned-modern style. The opener, “Faith in Groove,” is infused with tribal drum elements and punchy bass lines, and the jazzy old-school electric keyboard gives it that groovy Morpei edge. The second song on the EP, “Desert Worship,” is a soulful track punctuated with acid lines and funky synths that force body movement.
“Desert Faith” is a statement for the artist, proclaiming his title as the funk-house king. The two-tracker is such a fun addition to the label and we can’t wait to hear what the young artist comes up with next!
