Following the recent release of standout track Superdiscoteca, and his sold-out London date with Busy P, the inimitable Myd is back with his brand new EP of the same title, released today via Ed Banger Records.
With this latest EP – his first since 2017’s epic All Inclusive – Myd explores a much more urgent and uptempo sound, this time delving into gleaming, disco-tinged beats, while building on his previous releases.
On the title track ‘Superdiscoteca’, Myd’s immaculate arrangements are once again drawn to the fore; evoking feelings of nostalgia and optimism while retaining the same melodic tone that he has become synonymous with. The single also gained solid support from tastemaker Annie Mac, who premiered it on her BBC R1 show.
While second track ‘The Bouncer’, taps into a more tribal sound and closing track ‘Talk To Me’, veers towards the hypnotic and melancholic, all 3 continue to build on Myd’s recent narratives of holidays and office life – this time adding clubbing to the mix.
With ‘Superdiscoteca’ Myd continues to cement his reputation as one of the most exciting producers to emerge from France in recent years.
