Namatjira – Sequoia Part 1 (3rd Avenue)

Namatjira has just come off an appearance on the impressive Perspectives Digital ADE Sampler. The Dutch producer has been rising steadily and his contemporary blend of deep grooves and rich musicality is sounding better with each successive outing. This week sees his much anticipated ‘Sequoia’ single for ‘3rd Avenue’ getting its release with remixes from: Levente and Li-Polymer.

Namatjira’s deep and sultry grooves are always a pleasure and ‘Sequoia’ certainly stands out from the wealth of poorly produced deep progressive out there. The momentous groove is delicately hypnotic and the moderately trippy surroundings accent the framework quite nicely. As the piece begins to breakdown the windswept backdrop becomes more apparent. The wispy calm relaxes the senses before a smooth build and sonic sweep soon reveals some drifting electronics which brings the track to a very classy and exhilarating climax.

The first remix is supplied by Levente who is making his first appearance on 3rd Avenue. The Hungarian producer has been delivering solid work of late for Stellar Fountain and Electronic Tree. His remix of ‘Sequoia’ makes great use of bell rhythms and percussive elements. The main theme from the original is recreated wonderfully along with some clever beat patterns and long dynamic stabs which are really impactful at the tracks peak.

The final remix is provided by Fabio Pereira aka Li-Polymer who is making his first appearance on 3rd Avenue as well. The Portuguese producer has just come off a killer remix of Juan Deminicis ‘Behind The Sun’ for Stellar Fountain and also has Classound, Mistique, Afterglow and Balkan Connection on his discography. Li-Polymer’s ‘Sequoia’ interpretation incorporates a punchier framework and groovier foundation while still making great use of the amazing atmospherics from Namatjira’s lush original. Three high quality cuts here which amounts to another strong release from 3rd Avenue. Highly Recommended.
