The 35th release on Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music features the highly anticipated remixes of Nicolas Petracca’s ‘Love In Sunset’.
Released in November of 2014 the melodic gem was regarded by many as one of the Argentine’s best ever productions. The new interpretations see Dopamine Music artists Pete McCarthey and Eyal Cohen returning to the label and both delivering fantastic renditions.
The first interpretation is provided by Pete McCarthey vs. ON&ON who is making his fifth appearance on Dopamine Music. Pete’s ‘Maggie’ production remains a standout in the labels discography and he has also appeared on Alola and Tulipa Records all in the last calendar year. Always a versatile producer Pete is equally adept at crafting cutting edge techno creations as he is funkier tech house bombs. For his ‘Love In Sunset’ interpretation the Greek producer has radically revamped the big and bold original into a deep and mysterious techno construction. Rough warehouse style beats, sinister vocal elements and hard claps lay down a dark vibe early. The mood however, shifts wonderfully with the reinvention of the melodic elements which are classically restrained for maximum emotional effect. A brilliant revision from Pete!
The second and final interpretation of ‘Love In Sunset’ is provided by Eyal Cohen who is returning to Dopamine Music for his second appearance. Eyal began his journey into music production in 2009 which followed an already successful DJ career in the Israeli club scene. His first productions were signed by Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank imprint and subsequent releases were featured on Motek Music, Sound Avenue and Stellar Fountain. Eyal’s trippy yet club friendly sound has been a favourite of many DJs over the last year and his ‘Love In Sunset’ interpretation is bound to be as well. Backed by a deep and detailed groove Eyal’s sonic reconstruction of the elements has transformed the piece into a dark, brooding beast. Clever beat patterns, stark electronics and a flair for the unexpected make for a sure fire dance floor smash. Don’t miss it!
